If your nerves are based solely on not hearing anything, GW is normally very late in starting acceptances. I won't except anyone to hear except a few people in the ED program until next year.

Yeah, and unlike other schools, I think GW actually does deal primarily with the ED apps first before moving on to RD.

Question about the PT program--is it true that you can no longer transfer into FT at GWU? If so, I might ask to amend my app.

Their FAQ still says that you can. I have not heard otherwise. It may be that it is harder to get permission to do the change, but AFAIK you can still petition to transfer after your first semester. Maybe call the admission's office to make sure.

Thanks CyLaw but I'm more nervous about my numbers not staking up for their PT program. Do I still have a good chance or am I screwed this cycle?

Quick question... I have read that GW hands out ~30 ED full rides. What are all the $104,000 figures on lsn? RD acceptances with close to a full ride?

RDs with 30k per year with free housing for the first year (14k). Still a pretty good deal.

You beat me to this one. I just hope my research into GW ED pays off with an ED accept.

$30k a year for 3 years + first year housing (valued at 14k).

Got it. Just found the answer here (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=97713) as well. Thanks for the snarkless reply.

If you apply for ED do they automatically consider you for PT or would i have had to have indicated that?

BLAST! Even when I respond he goes to your post!

CyLaw, 47; Wired, -3.

Also, if only knowledge of the ED really did help. I have a 169/3.38. I am positive my 3.38 will exclude me from getting it. I am only hoping that they will respond with one of those 30k/year and 14k housing deals.

Since it's past December 15, does it mean that GWU will begin sending out ED?

Does anyone know if GW has historically sends merit aid info with acceptance packages, or is it sent at a later date?

From what I saw on LSN, at least for people deferred from RD, they were notified of merit aid a month later.

Based on LSN, first acceptances for ED should be next week.

Which answer do you seek?

Unless of course you mean a decision, then yeah, right there with you... still waiting here, GW. I need your ED answer before I can plan my life for the next three and a half years.

I am losing my mind. Does anyone happen to have the earliest known GWU ED acceptance date?

Edit: Nevermind. LSN says it is 12/22

It looks like there was a huge wave of acceptances on 1/27.

ALso, I noticed that there were a lot of people who got 100K plus scholarship offers that they turned down. Does the school then turn around and try to use that money to help the next-qualified applicants?

I am interested in the ED acceptances though and all of those are given out by 1/15. I can't believe that only one LSNer was an ED acceptance.

I think there was 2.

And don't forget that the people on LSN are only a drop in the applicant pool. With only 30-50 people (heard conflicting numbers) getting the ED scholarship, 2 people on LSN seems about right . Especially when you consider that most the LSN/TLS crowd has a t14 or bust mentality.

Well, it was my understanding that a lot of people from the ED pool were deferred but given an answer soon thereafter, so I think maybe that's what that was.

Do ED applicants who are deferred get their decisions at the same time as the acceptances, or later?

So, I just got this semester's grades...straight As. It moves my university GPA to a 3.8 but my LSAC only from a 3.23 to a 3.3. Since I applied ED, do you think its even worth it to try to get a transcript sent to LSAC to have them update my report? I don't know if it will be processed in time, and I don't want to have to change my app to regular decision. I don't know what to do...
