Re: The George Washington Law School 2010
I just received an email from a 2L at GW congratulating me on my acceptance (which I still haven't received). This relieves a lot of the stress I have had about getting in - I wonder if any money is attached.

Haha. No worries. The $$ at BU and ND has definitely helped deal with the dings. The only way I'd pay the CoL in DC is if I ended up at Georgetown, a school which I may or may not have accidentally expressed affinity for in my GW app.JusticeHarlan wrote:Ah, sorry about that. (And thanks for pointing it out, by the way! Jeez, no one posts screen shots on LSN of all the schools I was admitted to?!) I think I posted this in my profile to calm any anxiety my dot may give people with similar numbers, but I made a pretty glaring mistake on my application. (After doing twenty of them on that terrible LSAC interface, it was bound to happen, right?)

I'd imagine they're pretty sensitive about that one

they said in the pamphlet that Merit $ could be given at any time after initial acceptance, if you just got in, i'd wait a week or so, im sure they're trying to get out the info sooner rather than later to help retain candidates

I emailed to see if there was any general time line that they follow in giving out merit aid. I got a canned response that said merit aid may or may not come in the future, but that all applicants should plan on not getting any $$$ and that I should begin the financial aid process.leckj wrote:So for those with no $$$ info in acceptance packets ... does that mean no $$$ period? Anyone thinking of shooting an email asking about $$$?

Got accepted via snail mail yesterday.

NO $$$ Grr.
I can't justify paying sticker for GW I don't think. I want to do PI so I really need $$ or solid LRAP. Is it too early to try to finagle money out of them?

Ditto! Hoping they do eventually offer me some $ like W&M, because I'm a city girl at heart, but my smile dipped a little reading the CoL numbers...lietx3 wrote:Got accepted today, it went to current address.

edit- It's a bit of a concern to hear others with similar numbers DID get $... oh well. When will it be late enough to "finagle?"

i'm aiming for march, closer to the seat deposit deadline when they might have a better idea of who's attending.

In. FT/RD 171, 3.75.
No mention of scholarship money. I called them and they confirmed I was not awarded anything.
In no way I do I feel entitled, nor do I want to sound that way, but I'm very upset. I was really hoping, with my numbers, for some merit aid. It's too bad, because I would very likely attend if I was given one of those large scholarships that other people have gotten. I will be withdrawing if I can't get some form of merit aid.
