I'm in the same boat - 169/3.3. I was surprised too. Hopefully we are at the top of the waitlist though, and hopefully a lot of the people who got accepted also got accepted to T14 schools.beef wellington wrote:WL'ed. 171 3.2
This sucks. I'm surrounded by green on LSN. What gives?

Just as a palliative to those guys on the waitlist
I got accepted but I will probably be taking a half-tution scholarship at Notre Dame in a month or so and open up a spot.

Also, in response to everyone's fears about COL...I have actively been doing research with the intent to move to DC ASAP before school actually starts, and I have to tell you, it really nowhere near what GW estimates it to be. I mean, if you want to live in a luxury condo in Georgetown then yeah, but I have already seen some apartments in Arlington/Alexandria that are on teh same metro line as GW and are extremely reasonable.

Re: The George Washington Law School 2010
Just received a "complete and under review" email today, so I'm joining the waiting club. Sent my app 01/27 because my professors took over two months to write LORs. My numbers are 167 / unofficial 3.67 because I'm an international.
Does anyone know approximately how long I can expect to wait for my decision?

I got the 105k w/ 167 and a 3.78 - it seems like most of those offers were made to applicants around that range as well. (That said, I do like to think that I have some strong softs that would have made a difference too...)td6624 wrote:There's someone on LSN (maybe he's here too) who had a 168 and a 3.8 and has $105,000 listed for GW.

In with 105k. I was a URM with 164/3.97. Had recs from two professors who had very good relationships with me, plus a year of experience on the Hill.
I don't know if I'll go - honestly, I only applied because I got a fee waiver and I toured the campus when a buddy of mine came in town to see it and figured, why the hell not?

It is low . Those are my expenses right now. It's totally doable, and it's not like I'm a homebody - I love going out and having fun, and it's surpisingly easy to do that within a short budget.missvik218 wrote:Ahh, 24 seems high ... but 14 seems really low?!tesoro wrote:See my analysis a page or 2 back.missvik218 wrote:What would you say looks more realistic than the given 24k?!jk11287 wrote:Also, in response to everyone's fears about COL...I have actively been doing research with the intent to move to DC ASAP before school actually starts, and I have to tell you, it really nowhere near what GW estimates it to be. Ah. Am I missing something or is that a pretty spectacular deal? I haven't heard back from anyone (I applied to nine schools) and have no real idea where I'll end up, but that seems like it would be hard to pass up if I were lucky enough to get the offer.

Same application timing boat here, except I sent my application out around the 31st and already got a "complete and under review" mail. Did they run out of applicants or does their receipt email just always say "complete and under review" because they've magicked their application completion speed to instantaneous or something?madforsadness wrote:Just received a "complete and under review" email today, so I'm joining the waiting club. I'd also like to know about how long they take from "complete and under review," since I wrote George Washington's probable latest response in my calendar at May based on their LSAC writeup.

I would say that is normal. They were probably receiving a lot of applications at that time. I applied in October and it took them a few weeks to email me after I submitted my application.welkyn wrote:need help !!
I applied on 1/19/10 and never heard anything from them, not even an email, is this normal?

I'm in with no announced merit scholarships. Does that mean I'll never get one, or do I still have chance to get some merit money later?
