Ugh. I really wish I hadn't noticed this thread. Now I'm going to be freaking out waiting for my WL or rejection for the next couple of days. I applied EA and was complete within a couple of days.

cc1702 I tried the same thing you are trying, I know ND is my top choice but did not go ed because you have to respond by the end of Jan or your out. I did not want to risk not hearing from other schools, but now I wish I had gone ed because I am set on ND. I went complete oct 2nd and called ND yesterday to see about changing to ed. I was told it was too late, I would have had to change before Nov 1 if I could have changed at all. The good news is decisions come relatively fast from ND, between 4 and 8 weeks from what I have heard. I am checking the mail in anticipation everdyday, good luck.

I sent an email earlier today asking to go ED, but I guess it can't be done. I'm actually a bit relieved and was having second thoughts after I sent the email for the same reason you just mentioned. Maybe it'll still help me though, since I put in writing that I plan to enroll if accepted.

Yea maybe I should do that. Getting your name and app recognized can't hurt unless you are an anoyance so an email might be a good idea. I want to just call and beg but that would probably hurt, besides I have a feeling my decision is in the mail. I went complete almost 5 weeks ago and when I was there I was told to expect a decision by early Nov. I just hope I get in, I wish there was something I could do now but all I can do is wait.

Yep. Of course, that decision can also be WL, which can be just as agonizing. If I don't find out until August which law school I'll be attending, I'll go insane.

I'm curious why some people keep saying EA instead of ED. Is there a non-binding early admissions option that I am not aware of?

Notre Dame ED is more of an EA option in that it is not binding, but you do have to make a decision to attend or not by a certain date, that is still relatively early in the cycle.

End of Jan I believe, if you don't decide you are out completely as oposed to going into the regular decision pool.

I got straight out rejected. Went EA, complete on 10/14. GPA 3.48, LSAT 164, knew that I was under the medians but wrote a good PS and a "Why ND" essay. Have 3 years of WE and good community service. I'm feeling pretty bad about it and what's worse, I signed up for the Nov. 13 open house event and bought plane tickets for it a month and a half ago. $400 bucks between making the reservations and canceling them. I thought I'd probably get WL'd and then have to fight for a spot in the class, but damn.

:( Sorry to hear that. Keep your chin up. Sometimes you can do everything right and still not get what you want. I know it sucks right now, but at least you gave it your best. With those stats you'll still get into a good school.

Thanks for the kind words. This process is stressful, but as this was my first official notice from any school, I'm a little rattled. I just want some good news! Like, even if it's an ADMIT from a safety school, I'll feel better.

Sorry Man that blows. Good times will come though, those numbers are too good to keep you out of a good school.

I know rejections feel bad but don't let it get you down to much. With a 164 I'm sure you'll wind up in a great school. Where else have you applied? If you like Indiana don't forget IUB!

They love high GPA's so you should have a shot off the waitlist if you stick with it

I'm going to fight, but I think I'll wait until the end of the semester so I have something good to show them. I really don't want to bug their office too much, but I also don't want to appear uninterested. I'm torn.

Just send back the form to be on the waitlist and then plan a visit in the spring if you are financially able to. Then send transcripts and maybe another LOR? You never know.
