If they put you on the WL with a 171, then most of us are doomed.

Is there any word from old timers here about the ND WL? Is it a soft rejection essentially or what?

If you look at law school numbers it is a general practice for them. My guess is it is a GPA is a little low but you should have a good shot off the waitlist.

From what I have heard, their waitlist is essentially that. Takes forever to get off it though.

Yeah, I was a little surprised when I got the letter. I'm hoping that the "Why ND" statement and a slight GPA boost from my first quarter grades will help get me off the WL.

I think it's important for people to know that the "Why ND?" statement is a really important part of their application. It's one of those things that is optional, but not really.

Went complete 9/28 and received my WL letter 11/2.

Is there a status checker for ND? If so, where?

I've been thinking and would like to know what you guys think about this: Might it be a good idea to email admissions and ask to be considered for the EA cycle? I applied 10/20 and went complete yesterday, but given that I won't be blowing them away with my numbers, I'm thinking this might show them I mean business. My PS and Why ND are both solid, and I'd say my portfolio (softs) is strong....to..quite strong.

The only thing would be is I believe you has to sign a ED form, which you might need to do. Its a toss up: you could look enthusiastic about the school or indecisive. My guess is they will say the deadline for EA was Nov 1 and since that has passed you will be considered for regular admission but it might not hurt to give a buzz.

Yeah, I thought about that. I'm thinking that the fact that I still applied really early in the cycle will help, and an explanation about why I've decided that 'ND is the school for me' could conquer this. Either way, I need to do it ASAP, since the deadline has passed. Thanks.

No, the complete deadline, as I've just learned, is not until 11/10, so I'm in good shape in that regard. I think I'm going to email them now. What I can't find is whether they will defer non-admits to the regular cycle or just reject them, like Minnesota and some other schools.

I think most of that were waitlisted applied regular decision. ED you have to make your mind up earlier (Feb?) and I will not have heard from most of my reaches by then.

Motherlicker! Still no word from them and applied when the app opened up. I'm still getting spammed by them to apply through snail mail though. Anybody have an idea when the second round of decisions come through?

Maybe check last year's cycle on LSN to see when people received acceptances. You're ED, I assume?

You guys really have to be patient. I applied to my schools last October, and didn't get many responses until February. I was also WLed by ND and got in with a scholarship in June. But yeah, come to ND, it's great. Good luck.

If you don't mind, could you share your numbers?

No just RD. Just called the admissions office and they said that most RD applicants who applied early should expect a decision no later than december first. They go through the ED applicants first, then they go through early RD applicants. So probably most of us RDers will need to wait 3 more weeks to hear.

I'll check LSN later tonight.

Does ND just not send out rejections to much later? Because I went complete 9/30 and am still under review. I would guess that means they just don't send out rejections early. Which is a really bad policy if you think about it. You aren't sparing the applicant any pain rather you are adding undue stress to them. And since when are adcoms tender-hearted? Get those rejections out asap! Let us rest in peace.

Just checked LSN. They started sending letters in a big way after the first week of November and hammered the mailman on 12/5. So, the time is near, my friend.
