I'm wondering about this too... as i did not write one....

Yeah I didn't write one, and I was literally one of the first 3 LSNers to get in. I went ED/EA, though, which in and of itself kinda indicates sincerity of interest.

Although I probably should post this in the other forum, they just sent me a handbook about everything about Notre Dame Law and South Bend. It is available on the admitted students page but I thought it was nice to actually print one out and send it.

Carry On.

Did anyone get any responses today? I am really hoping their next wave of decisions comes out soon.

I'm guessing (hoping?) there will be another one early next week. Who knows though.

latest DR on LSN was still for the ED applicants. Not sure when they'll finally start focusing on the RD pool full time. I think it may be next week, for the september and early oct completes.

They do take a long time with apps since all the PS and Why essays get sent around the faculty. I wonder if they are just sitting on them.

I applied EA, wrote a Why ND, and even met with a member of the admissions committee before applying (I thought it went well :( ) and still got rejected. If they wanted to reject you, they would have. I think you can take this waitlist as just that: a waitlist.

Got the acceptance email on 12/8, and finally made it to the post office to get my mysterious "package" that couldn't be delivered (NYC, no doorman - :x ).

ND Law sent a $10+ Priority Mail package with letter, guidebook, and miscellaneous items. I am really impressed. W&L sent a tiny envelope with a single, smudged letter. Details matter.

Also, did not write a Why ND letter. See LSN for stats and scholly info.

PS- Not excited about Brian Kelly. When he coached at Central Michigan he coached my cousin and my cousin says he's a total tool. Not excited :(

Now I'm scared... Numbers similar to yours (3.85, 163)... I thought I had ND on lock. :?

Many people with numbers higher than mine (ours) have got straight out rejected already. I'm excited that I am waitlisted because many people didn't get that chance.

ND waitlists tons of people. They want to make sure they get people who actually want to come here, so there are tons of people here who rode out the waitlist for a while. It's definitely not a soft reject, especially if you show interest. I personally got off the WL (I'm a current 2L), as did lots of others in my class. Definitely contact Heather or Melissa in admissions (they are super nice and helpful), and stay in regular contact with admissions (every month or so) with your LOCI, any transcript or other updates, visits, phone calls, additional LORs, etc., so they keep you in mind and know you're still interested. The list will start moving in April-ish, so be patient and don't worry!

I guess they're like fordham in this regard?

I hope I get accepted early though, Notre Dame is one of my top choices... Waiting until post-April might rule out the school entirely...

I hear that almost a third of their class is waitlist people. Probably because many people apply to ND as a safety and ND entices them with money to no avail. People with numbers below the medians but at or above 25ths are usually accepted off the waitlist because they generally want to go there even without money. Actually it's not uncommon for ND to give scholly money to people off the waitlist. < my 2 cents.

when did you go complete? a few people have given them calls and they can tell you either that you're under review or an approximate time table on your decision.
