Re: In at Notre Dame (2013)
I've heard that visiting the school and talking with an admissions rep. makes more of an impression than a LOCI. If this is true how much does visiting the school help you if you are trying to get in off the WL like me?

Re: In at Notre Dame (2013)
WL yesterday via snail mail Complete early December.
For the #23s: UIUC says yes, but IU and Notre Dame will take a rain check.
Maybe UIUC's application numbers didn't explode as much as IU or Notre Dame or the rest of the country. Just perturbed and postulating.
Thoughts?

Re: In at Notre Dame (2013)
This is definitely not the norm. I'm a 2L and I'm currently taking my first NDLS class ever that opens with a prayer. Avoid Fed Tax with Barrett and take it instead with Kirsch or Mayer if you are bothered by it. Bellia for Contracts opens with a prayer, and 1Ls can't choose their profs, but he explains to his class that he does it to honor his old mentor who is now deceased. Canon Law of Marriage, taught by Fr. Coughlin, resident priest of NDLS, is an option, as well as Morality and the Law, and this semester, a seminar on Law and Islam. None of those 3 are required. Required classes include Business Associations, Fed Tax, Jurisprudence (sort of a philosophy of law class), a skills class, a professional ethics class (which is an ABA req), and a substantial writing component (fulfilled by your note if you are on a journal). Evidence is strongly encouraged. Mass, however, is not strongly encouraged, even today (Ash Wednesday). If the Catholic thing is your thing, you can get super involved with it through the St. Thomas More Society, Jus Vitae, and the larger ND community, but if it isn't - it isn't mine - then don't do any of it and you'll generally feel fine and comfortable.robin600 wrote:One of the professors is a priest. I'm guessing it's a frequent event, but probably not all professors do this. Mass in the law chapel is a daily event though.ccs1702 wrote:lol.robin600 wrote: Yes I am 100% sure that's what she said and meant, because I asked (being on the waitlist I'm gonna have to put a seat deposit down somewhere else, will this count against me?) When they start freeing up spots for the wait lists (when everything is due which is 4/15) they will see how many deposits you have down and how many wait lists you are on. She specifically told me that 2 or even three deposits in april will not hurt you (but it won't help you either), but once you get to June, they expect for you to have one deposit down (your back up) and then one wait list option (them), otherwise they don't think you're serious about attending. No kidding she really said "we don't think you're serious about attending if you are on more than one wait list in June, unless its your dream school like Harvard." <--- exactly
Did they really start class with a prayer? Does this happen every day for every class?

Dinged today via snail mail. This is pretty disappointing as I thought my softs and "Why ND" would get me a WL (I didn't have much hope for an outright acceptance)...
Good luck to those of you still waiting!

Thanks, I guess the real battle begins for me know. Any suggestions from anyone on how to successfully get off the waitlist? Aside from the usual visit, LOCI, etc.fulkersonr1 wrote:brose002 wrote:Looks like my odyssey didn't end quite as happy as Veritas' did. WL today via snail mail. I will be fighting to get off this one

IN!!! My box was delievered to my apartment at 11:30 this morning, and it turns out ND shorted the postage by 5.80, so I had to pay the postman before I could get my box. Scholarship of 18k/yr was included! I'm very excited

So you didn't get an email telling you that you were accepted before receiving the package? I kind of thought that was going to be a new trend...ndirish2010 wrote:haha that would be funny...it's weird that this happened but it's great because I kind of enjoyed getten woken up by an acceptance from NDutcris410 wrote:wow! that's hilarious!ndirish2010 wrote:IN!!!
