from what I was told, you would have to have moved there at least 1 full year before you start any schooling there.
This much is true. IU has this nasty little policy that, even if you establish residency formally, if you were in Indiana for the expressed purpose of education at that time, IU reserves the right legally to classify you as a non-resident for tuitions sake. Its funky if you ask me.

Update from earlier - I got home and opened the package. Nicely presented materials. Scholarship that essentially amounts to a half tuition waiver.

in at IU-Bloomington! thick, well-prepared package in the mail, personal note from the Dean (nice touch), and comfortable 1/2 scholly.
OOS, LSAT >75%, GPA ~25%, submitted early (~Oct. 1). love to the splitters!
good luck everyone!

I had my roomate check my mail while I am away for the holidays. Accepted on 12/16 with a hand-written note from the Dean and full out-of-state fellowship! Awesome pre-Christmas gift. Applied late September, went under review mid-October. 164/4.0.

Wow, congrats to those with full scholarships. Looks as though they're liking really high GPAs.

Just accepted. With what is essentially a half ride. Nice handwritten note regarding my personal statement.

Just got the massive package today. Despite having pretty average numbers, I received a full ride (non-resident). Bloomington also sounds really cheap to live in (at least compared to CA). Could get in and out with little to no debt.
The school seems to be a bit over-ranked, but it is going to be pretty hard to turn the offer down. My other acceptances are in the T14-T35 range.
Where do the rest of you guys stand? Especially those with a large amount of merit scholarship.
Cheers

I'd say no dice since you are below median on both counts. However, if you get a 164+ on that Dec LSAT, you will get in with $$. Numbers game

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to the rest of you waiting (I was deferred last year and didnt get in till late)
If any of you have questions about anything feel free to ask in the IUB discuss your law school thread (or here I just know I hardly get to this part of the forums anymore), there are about 5-10 of us 1L's around that have lots of free time for the next few weeks and would love to help out in any way.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
