This may change in the upcoming years, so, if you are risk averse enough to postpone LS because of it, then postpone for sure; otherwise, take the risk and mitigate it with your best effort on all fronts.
I'm a 1L. If you're dead-set on working at a big firm - don't settle for anything lower than MVP. From Cornell on - its rough for everybody.
