January? I went complete in December and still haven't heard anything. At this point it doesn't matter because I'm sure they've already exhausted their merit aid and I couldn't justify paying sticker at Fordham.

I think something on the application said that applicants who submit after Feb 1 shouldn't expect to hear until after the end of May. I could be wrong though.

I just went back and looked over my app / the instructions section, I didn't see anything to that effect. Maybe it's on the website somewhere.

According to LSN, some Feb. complete dates have received decisions.

I went complete 2/2 and was admitted mid March. LSN in profile.

Just withdrew, hopefully one of you gets my spot!

As much as it sucks, I think the waiting makes us appreciate it more. I applied in November and was admitted in May, and one of my classmates got in during the second week of August. I don't think anyone was happier (or more deserving of 11th hour happiness, given his boldness) than he was.

Sometimes I wonder, if it had been easy, whether I would have worked this hard once admitted. I was thrilled, but also terrified, and I felt like I had a lot to prove, because I wondered if Fordham regretted taking me. As awful as it was, that wait was a blessing in disguise. While I would have loved money, I think I got something invaluable because I was forced to wait, confront my own insecurities, and really think about this. It's been almost a year, and I can finally look back and be glad.

There is an upside to this, and it is so worth the wait! I think I'm a more serious student because I never believed I would really be here.

It's still frustrating, however, and not because I feel they owe me an answer now, but because (at least in my case) there are other, both school and non-school related options that I can't necessarily pursue until I get some sort of definite answer. Such is life.

Anyone has done the fnancial aid application with Fordham? I submitted my FAFSA but haven't done anything else and the admitted students page does not have any documents uploaded regarding this. I also haven't received anything in the mail from them. I appreciate them greatly, but the guidance with the fin aid process seems to be lacking a bit. I would also like some more materials about the schools, but nada in the mail so far.

This is all true. At the time, I really couldn't think about anything else, and I put my entire life on hold. I think I hardly slept during the month of April. I hope you get in soon, but I do want you to know that crappy situations can give rise to unexpected blessings.

That's my positive thought for the day. I have to get back to being bitter and jaded, because I promised disco_barred I would work on this crucial skill set.

If this doesn't work, I'm going to have to attempt the trophy husband angle, work on my modeling, or sit around hoping someone drives up to me one day and just offers me a boat load of cash to sit around and do nothing.

Further, the last three options were obviously completely made up, in all honesty, I will be the dude outside Fenway going "Tickets! Anyone need tickets?!"

Yes. The whole "figuring out where I'm going to be so I can plan for it" thing is tough when you don't have all your options clearly laid out on the table.

For someone who lives within spitting distance of Fenway for almost 3 years (damn, I'm old), the number of games I've been to is embarassing. It's more than 0, but less than 10.

I know. I'm actually very familair with 3 of the 4 guys working that series right now. The plate guy yesterday took us out a lot during spring training last year and the 1st and 2nd base umpires have both thrown parties for the staff at the pro school i used to instruct at. But I can't make any of the games this week. Sadface.

I worked my one game at a big league field at Fenway. It was amazing. The field is a real pain in the ass when it comes to fly balls in the outfield (especially down the right field line) but it was still really sweet to get some big league dirt on my shoes.

And the fridge in the locker room was stacked with beers.
