Hi,
I have 162 GPA 3.88. Applied Fordham PT. What are my chances? Went complete on 01/12/2010.

Thank You all.

You toured? Like, as a musician? Performer? Biker gang?

LOL "Biker Gang." I'm going to start implying that. No, as a performer.

Really hard to say. LSN implies that only 1 or 2 people sub-164 have been admitted, period... but who knows. Your GPA should help, for sure.

Where do most people that go to Fordham Law plan to live? (On Campus or Off, Manhattan or somewhere else, etc.)

I live in NYC currently, so would stay in my apartment.

I don't know if I could justify living in Manhattan and going to school. I would probably live in Brooklyn and commute. Reading on the train is not bad at all.

Columbus Circle is a pretty large transportation hub, so I would live close to one of 1ACBD subway lines.

I live in Manhattan now. I was thinking of moving to UWS to make the commute easier.

I just looked at Fordham's graduate housing, though, and the location is pretty sweet!

However, for a studio, the cost is $17K for the academic year (9 months) = $1888/month. You can get a good one bedroom in Manhattan for that amount. OR save a lot of money and live in Brooklyn/Queens/Harlem, etc.

Studio maybe... 1 BR, probably not in that neighborhood. What a great location!

$1,888 a month is a lot of money, even for Manhattan. You can get a nice studio on the UWS for less.

Living with roommates and/or moving to Brooklyn can save you in the neighborhood of 15 grand a year in rent and COL.

Oh yeah, not in that neighborhood. I meant somewhere in Manhattan.

Hell's Kitchen is a little more affordable than the UWS. The neighborhood is a little more grim, but has a lot of great restaurants and is steps away from Fordham.

You can live in Manhattan and make it affordable. Get a 1bdrm convertible and find a roomate etc. You can get most places in the city in 30 mins or less on transpo so def look in different hoods. I live UES for 1100/month with doorman/elevator etc. Craigslist is your friend :)

I was browsing there too!

But then I stopped because I'm getting nervous about assuming an Acceptance.

This is very true. I lived on the UES for 4 years and never paid more than $1025 a month. The UES isn't the most convenient to Fordham, but it's not too bad.

If I do end up at Fordham, NYC COL will definitely take some getting used to. I currently live in a nice 3 BR apt in a mid-size city in Kansas with two roommates and my rent is ~200/mo.

Mmmm good point.

So funny, when I was first apartment searching in NYC, I was like "that apartment is 3 avenues (or 8 blocks, etc) from the subway....NO WAY!" I thought I had to be RIGHT NEXT to a subway stop. But I walk 8-10 minutes to the subway every day and love it. Of course, this is without a backback full of laptop/law books...
