Re: Fordham Waiting Room
i was whining at my bf about how long fordham (the only school left in my cycle that i really need to hear from!) is taking to get back to us, and he reminded me that he took the MCATs in JULY of 2009, applied in AUGUST, and is still waiting on med schools.
i think his point was that "it could be worse," but i took it as "the gods of higher education have aligned against us."
moral of the story: i think all adcomms are evil, regardless of discipline.

Better than mine (for LSAT), lol.musicfor18 wrote:What do you all think my chances are with 167/3.7? Thanks!
Has Fordham gone into decisions with 12/9 complete dates? If so, then why am I still here? My numbers are pretty low for a FT applicant.
Anyway, congrats to all who survived another week!

I think some 12/9ers got decisions last week. I was complete 12/9 and I haven't heard anything.cherryalamode wrote:Better than mine (for LSAT), lol.musicfor18 wrote:What do you all think my chances are with 167/3.7? Thanks!

I'm 12/9 also and I haven't heard anything. So I just obsessively check my status checker and this particular message board. Enjoyed that Lost link a couple of posts up.chutzpah wrote: I'm 12/9 as well with no decision.

It was intense, to say the least. I loved the kids (I taught 1st grade) but not necessarily what was going on at the school. Glad you had a great experience in LA! Big move to NYC -- are you from the area?Mattalones wrote:Wow! That must have been an awesome experience. I taught in LA, which was also a great experience. Are you going to Fordham next year?LaurenGayle wrote:
Where did you do TFA? I taught 4 years ago in the Bronx.
Like you, I'm at least 90% (probably 98% haha) sure on Fordham. I visited a few weeks ago and fell completely in love, just need to wait and hear from the schools that are stringing me along.

Re: Fordham Waiting Room
Quick question:
I'm going on a tour on Monday at 11. Anyone who has toured before, around how long did the entire process take? I have to be in Chelsea at 12, it'll probably take about 15 min of traveling. I could obviously push it back, I'm just wondering if I'll have to. It says the tour takes about a half hour-45 minutes, does it take longer?

When I toured, it took about an hour. There were people who left, part way through. But I doubt you'll see more than the library, given your time frame.Kim617 wrote:Quick question:

No, I can stay the whole hour. I don't really have a time frame. I'll push back my appointment. What else is shown on the tour?nygrrrl wrote:When I toured, it took about an hour. The cafeteria, the journal offices and PIRC, the moot court room, and the atrium. The school is self contained. I would say most of the tour is usually devoted to people asking questions. I've given several tours, and I try to finish in 45 minutes, though people usually want to stay after and ask questions.Kim617 wrote:No, I can stay the whole hour. I don't really have a time frame. I thought I learned a lot from the questions other people asked - think it's valuable for her to stay the whole time, don't you?OperaSoprano wrote:The cafeteria, the journal offices and PIRC, the moot court room, and the atrium. Yes, if she can. I try to be really frank with people about their chances, and tell them honestly what I've seen happen with people's cycles. I don't know everything obviously, but if I can answer something I will.nygrrrl wrote: I thought I learned a lot from the questions other people asked - think it's valuable for her to stay the whole time, don't you?

Re: Fordham Waiting Room
OS or anyone else - is there a special relationship between Fordham and Lincoln Center because of the proximity? Like cheaper Met/NY Phil/ballet tix? I went to high school in the city and remember getting super cheap NYC Opera and Ballet tickets.OperaSoprano wrote:Darling, thank you for posting these. *sigh*nygrrrl wrote:Nancy B!!!
