Are u planning on working in nyc? Does georgetown place better than fordham in nyc, because the 20k a year might be worth it in the end.

I would love to have 60k off my tuition. I hear georgetown is nice, but I def think you should visit and talk to nyers that moved to dc to get a better idea of what you're going to do. Tough decision, but congrats!

If they plan on admitting me, I really hope they do it soon so I can get some need-based aid :(

Kim, if u go w gtown, can I have ur 60k??
I'm not sure, actually, where I want to work. I'm definitely open to working in DC, and I'm seriously considering federal government work, so I'm not sure. I think Georgetown's placement in big law, if that's what I do decide, is better than Fordham, in NY or DC. What I mean is, I don't think Georgetown will hurt me if I decide to work in NY. Most importantly, I didn't feel excited when I left Fordham, and I have to spend 3 years in law school, and I want to be sure.

Ha, I wish I could give one of you my scholarship!

"Dean Brown, after much time, I have decided to decline your acceptance. Fordham is a great school and I appreciate your faith in my academic abilities. Oh, and please give my scholarship to goosey. KTHXBIE"

i'm pretty sure that's because fordham grads really only work in nyc whereas georgetown grads choose to work in dc, the west coast, ny, etc., so of course its going to have a higher percentage of grads working in ny. i'm not knocking fordham at all, it's a great school, but i don't think it'll hurt my chances in ny if i went to georgetown.

I'm still waiting to hear from Fordham(applied 12/28) and I just sent an email to the admissions office to gather some more information on their OCI Firms. I was talking on the phone while typing...here is the first sentence of the email:

"I am a recently waitlisted applicant and I am interested in gathering some more information about your OCI program."

I am confused, are you waiting to hear back, or did you get wait listed? If you didn't get wait listed, why would you tell them you were wait listed? I have a hunch they know who is wait listed and who is not....

Cop to it. Send another email, make a joke about it, own it.
The folks in the admissions office are terrific.

I would love a reason (other than the fact that it is a fantastic song) to listen to Stevie Wonder's "Part-Time Lover" today.

i must concur with those who saw alice and wonderland this weekend, i thought it was great. still not sure how i feel about 3d as it strains my eyes a little. and i love the quote "Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
