Last year there were a few people who found out early via their Michigan checker changing to Withdrawn...

i already got in there so it just says decision but the status checker for all the other schools (penn, uva, etc.) still says just like under review or something (hasn't been withdrawn yet)
Ok, that's good to know.. I guess they fixed that from last year

I think most of the first wave has been auto-admits and most of us are on the fence so they will prob take more time to evaluate us.

I'm ED (I think) and I would certainly not call myself auto-admit. According to the NYU admissions person, my decision was "mailed" Dec 2. Submitted 11/8, received e-mail 11/17, never got a complete e-mail. No letter yet in the bay area. A bit concerned that the Dec 2 is not the actual mailing date but the letter date since everyone in the "I'm in" group seems to have a letter dated Dec 1 postmarked Dec 4.

If the stats in your profile are anywhere near accurate...you are mistaken. You are def an auto-admit! Expect a big purple envelope soon my friend.

I highly doubt that they would send out an ED rejection so early... If it's sent, I'd bet you're in.

How much of an edge does ED give somebody? I applied, 169/3.80, expecting a wait list...

ED's are going slower so no real concensus yet. only a few of us in. but i can say that via LSP, i go from consider to strong consider with ED, but i think that's b/c i am right at both medians. but, the boost is certainly not (at least i dont think) like UVAs.

Cool, I should be in this thread too. Looks like only a small handful of ED acceptances still that we know about.

the slow trickle of ED is painful, but looks like a couple with your numbers received acceptances so hopefully its looking good for you!

Here's hoping! I knew it wasn't going to be my numbers that kept me out of NYU. I've definitely been operating under the hope that a median index combined with a tailored PS and ED contract should do the trick.

so painful. and it just seems so unfair -- we're ED! doesn't that mean we should find out EARLIER than everyone else?? not after everyone else in the world has received a decision... (please nyu? please?!)
