The only reason I would advise against going that day is March 5th falls on unofficial... As a UIUC undergrad, I can tell you it will be crazy!

Also, if you are having trouble finding a hotel, have you tried couchsurfing?

I will be going on March 5th since I am busy the other weekend, and since I go to Illinois for Undergrad, I will have to postpone the Unofficial celebration until after ASD.

But I figure it's worth postponing this one since I will get to celebrate 3 more Unofficials in law school. :)

Unofficial is the best possible time to go. Just don't judge us for being wasted, it's a special day.

For those of you who are post 911 military vets (like me) I've tried to do some calculations. Please double check my information for me and for yourself. I am not a reliable mathematician.
Tuition=40,000 out of state minus 13,393.92 maximum GI Bill payment= 26,606.08
Fees 3,425 minus (max) 5,126.00 = 0
Books 1,838 minus GI Bill reimbursement 1,000= 838
R+B 11,512 minus E5 with Dependents BAH x 9 months 10,692 = 820
other cost est. 2,898
Total = 31,162.08

There is also 25 Yellow ribbon scholarships available. I would imagine that is enough to cover every vet in the program but I am not sure. School pays 13,784 and VA matches for a total of 27,568.
Total estimated cost with Yellow Ribbon = $4,216.08 per year

Thanks for your service too.

It is a strange feeling knowing Dean Pless is going to be right down the street this week reading my file. I feel so helpless, it is going to be hard to refrain from flooding him with offers of free pizza/sandwiches/coffee.

That said, do you prefer pepperoni or sausage, Dean Pless?

TCR is buying him a Taco Gringo pizza from One World. That stuff is addictive.

I'm more of a Gumby's fan than One World, although I have to say I have never actually HAD Gumby's pizza. The pokey stix, however... oh man.

Ummm... Antonio's? Done.

Your numbers look right to me, but you're calculating off of 09-10 cost of attendance. Dean Pless has said that next year's (Fall) costs will be out soon, and that he doesn't anticipate a large bump.

So - unless I'm missing something, which is totally possible - you probably have a good ballpark figure, but won't know for sure for a little bit.

That's what I was aiming for. I am comfortable knowing that after 3 years debt will be something less than 20 K. Last time I did this for Minnesota I was off by about 9K per year.

(Since the GI Bill is for 4 years I'll probably pick up an MA)

POKEY STIX! Incredible. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

Granted, I've never actually had them in Chambana, but I assume they're the same as the ones in Gainesville. :)

I was under the impression that this batch was including anyone before January. Maybe this is a good sign?

The only day it is sunny, its biter cold. The rest of the time its cloudy. The sky is as gray as the snow. And shops on green street don't shovel sidewalks.

I fell more during the winter than I did because of intoxication.
