I believe that's what Dean Pless said. If you search back, he said something along the lines of having no more files on hold by the end of the month.brickman wrote:Are files that became "hold" on 1/15/10 due to have a decision this Friday?

Re: Illinois 2010!
Two questions -- one for anyone and one for Dean Pless:
1. Does UIUC have an Open House or anything like that coming up over the next few months?
2. Dean Pless - Given that it's now January, are those of us who went complete immediately following the December LSAT at a significant disadvantage in terms of scholarship consideration?

So Dean P, when will those who are currently under review receive a decision?Pless wrote:New files are moving into review. These will be files that were complete by December 16th and all applicants currently on Hold.

We have Admitted Student Open Houses on March 5th and April 9th. We will also be having events in DC, NYC, Houston and Chicago. That info will be sent out to all admitted students in the next few weeks.
I don't anticipate any changes in our scholarship offers.
Sorry about your sister, if only I had known.
Decisions on Friday. Big, big batch.

Any more details about the event in DC? The acceptance email said more info would be sent in January. Depending on my work schedule this might be the event I end up going to.
Might I suggest dinner followed by an open bar at the Mandarin Oriental?

Sorry, if I am early this week you guys might expect that every week.timertimer61 wrote:any chance some of the decisions will come out before friday?
This week's notifications will mark the beginning of our Wait List. I have talked about this before, but I thought I would post a reminder on how I handle the Wait List. I will send out a Wait List notice and you will have to opt on to the list. We use a very simple online survey for you to state your preference. Once on the list, I will send emails at regular intervals with updates. If you don't respond or reply with a "no thanks" we will withdraw your application.

Just to clarify, this doesn't mean that there will be no more acceptances in the forthcoming batches, correct? Just that you will stop putting people on hold and begin to use the wait list?Pless wrote:Sorry, if I am early this week you guys might expect that every week.timertimer61 wrote:any chance some of the decisions will come out before friday?

Right, there will be admits, denies and Wait List offers in this next batch and all of them moving forward.Chiglaw wrote:Just to clarify, this doesn't mean that there will be no more acceptances in the forthcoming batches, correct? Re: Illinois 2010!
Dean Pless,
There's no reason of course why I need to know this - I'm just curious. You mention all of the files that you have to review. Do you personally go over and ultimately make the decision on every application? Do you have other people read files and they make suggestions.... Or do others have the ability to ultimately say yes or no on the more obvious files? Are you the tie-breaker? Just curious about whether and how the workload is divided up. Again, this is not important information, just something that I'm very curious about.
