Assuming you have set a password/activated your netid, you should be able to access your university email acct here. I logged in this morning and the acct is set up and active.

I even had an "academic discount" Viagra ad waiting for me.

Seriously? Mine was definitely not working...

Let me try again and report back...

Dean Pless--As always, thank you for such a quick response!

Okay, so it looks like they just turned them on! ...Now if only I could get it to sync with my blackberry...

Anyone had luck with this yet? My guess (due to the error message I get) is that the email address is new enough that it hasn't been added to their exchange database yet...

Mine set up is @illinois.edu. Was it possible to set up an email @law.illinois.edu?

I just tried to email myself from another account to netid@law.illinois.edu and it bounced back. So my guess is no. Oh well, not a big deal.

Agreed. It's definitely real once it's FBO.

Perhaps that particular email address is the one not available until orientation?

That guess is as good as any.

Dean Pless:

I just read, in a few places, about a proposed 9.5% increase for tuition. The articles mentioned only the undergraduate school, but I'd like to ensure that it does not include the College of Law. Does it? Can we reasonably expect that the $40,000 price tag won't be changing this year (and not too much, I hope, in the coming years)?

It doesn't include the college of law which will have a 0% tuition increase this year, if I remember correctly. The college of law doesn't have the budgetary problems that the university does (thank god).

I know that's what we've been told--but everything was contingent upon the trustee meeting of this afternoon, and I'm looking for official word that what we think we know is in fact accurate.

I hope you're right!

We don't anticipate any tuition increase this year. I am not sure there is another law school in the country that can say that.

Dean Pless,

Forgive me for asking again, but has there been any movement on the people under a 2nd review on appeal? Are you still expecting to have them done before or by the end of May? I'm very anxious and excited to hear a decision. Thanks.

Thank god this is so. Some schools *cough* Berkeley *cough* are slapping people in the face with really big tuition increases.

Well, here's hoping there's some waitlist movement next week. There has definitely been some movement this past week at a few other schools so I'm holding on for dear life for a couple weeks more...

So it's the week after the second seat deposit deadline. Illinois has had a day to gather themselves, crunch the numbers, and see what kind of people they want to add to top off their class.

Man, I hope they decide they need more high LSATs with good work experience!! Time to try to increase that 75th %ile to 168!!
