Does anyone's application status still show "not in review"?
applied before the deadline, 164/3.6, should I be worried and call the office? (well I'm really worried already.. )
With lots of deposit deadlines approaching, hopefully I can hear some good news from UIUC my dream school...fingers crossed..

It has been a few weeks since I have reviewed any files as I have concentrated on some of our admitted student events. I will review a large batch of files next week and I hope to have all completed files reviewed by the end of this month.

My plan is to send out an email about the Class of 2009 employment stats on Monday.

Dean Pless,

I'm applying to transfer from a Top 40 school, and I've done pretty well this year (top 15%). I applied last year with a 160, was denied, retook the LSAT and got a 168 - which is why I ended up where I did.

My question is: will the fact that I did my undergrad at U of I help me as a transfer applicant? Will the fact that I previously applied and was denied hurt me?

We are going to look primarily at your performance in law school. The fact that you went to a great undergraduate institution can only help. 95% of all accepted transfer applicants applied to Illinois as a first year student.

I received my waitlist e-mail this morning! It basically said thanks for your patience and that they won't be making any offers off the waitlist until after their initial seat deposit on April 30th. He also mentioned that the waitlist is relatively small, which can be a good thing for those still on it I suppose. I'm holding on for dear life until June 15th.

Thanks Dean Pless!

Got the 2009 employment statistics. They look quite good.

One question, though. It says that it is "95% of salary data collected"...This means that 95% of the class is reporting, correct? Not that this represents 95% of the total data collected.... Am I right? I suspect that I am, given how transparent Illinois has been thus far, but I wouldn't put it past some schools to manipulate the numbers anyway they can...

If these numbers are accurate (huge if,) over 47.5% of the class of 2009 is making over 90k a year. And the class of 2009 got hit hard by the recession - especially Illinois grads aiming for Chicago biglaw (the presumed source of most of the salaries over 100k.) God, I hope these employment stats are somewhat accurate..

I got one today. They start looking at the waitlist on 4/30 after seat deposits are due from the accepted applicants. He said that the waitlist is relatively small, being comprised of less than 10% of all applicants.

Hypothetical question: If someone were admitted to UIUC with a 20k/yr scholarship as a non resident student, but was given residency after a year, would the scholarship be then lowered?

Edit: Lockers for Law students? (Re-edit: This isn't a suggestion for some sort of charity drive, just a question written sans verbs).

Your scholarship would not change. We do have lockers for every student.
