Waitlisted. But it's not a rejection so I am happy. I will definitely be drafting a LOCI. I really want to go to UIUC.
Congrats to everyone that got in today!

WL'd
2.85/168
To be honest, I think I applied too late. They have already admitted all the splitters.

Wow, that's a mistake. Since when is UIUC too good for those numbers?84Sunbird2000 wrote:Waitlisted 166/3.75

Wow, sorry about the WL! Now I'm worried about getting in with my 167/3.7. I would really love to go to UIUC!

Re: Illinois 2010!
Well, I applied late, and I remember that Dean Pless mentioned that a lot of students who are pretty much admits are waitlisted late in the cycle, and this appears to be getting late in the cycle. I also understand that Illinois is definitely more holistic, and though I think I had decent softs and WE, I understand that there may have been better candidates. Still, it's definitely the first unexpected result of my cycle.

Re: Illinois 2010!
Is there anyone here who has been able to successfully negotiate a scholarship increase with UIUC? $20K/year is pretty neat, but nowhere near the $39K/year WUSTL offered me.Geist13 wrote:anyone else just get this 10 lb solid steel jump drive. I received that 4gb thumb drive today. It's very nice; reminds me of a mini Zippo lighter.

Re: Illinois 2010!
Dean Pless,
First off, I want to thank you so much for being on TLS and adding so much to the community. It is just great that you do that, and I know everyone appreciates it.
I do have one question for you: Is there any way for the admissions committee members to see other schools students are accepted at?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
