Does Illinois Law have any preference as to the format of a LOCI? Can I submit one via e-mail attachment, or should I send one in via snail mail?
Thanks!

Ah, the "Here's how much debt you're going into" email. Looking forward to it.Pless wrote:The financial aid email will be information about cost of attendance and loans that are available. It will include scholarship information as well, but scholarship figures are sent out via email with the acceptance and in the admissions letter that is mailed to you.NewtonLied wrote:What's this financial aid mailing people are talking about. Is it merit scholarships for people who haven't received one yet or is this something different?

We prefer to call it an investment that you are making in yourself.NewtonLied wrote: Ah, the "Here's how much debt you're going into" email. Looking forward to it.

I used to use that same line on my mom to rationalize all those baseball cards I used to buy. My dad always seemed ok with it without any convincing. Oddly enough, they seem to have taken the same positions on law school... interesting...Pless wrote:We prefer to call it an investment that you are making in yourself.NewtonLied wrote: Ah, the "Here's how much debt you're going into" email. Is there a general consensus on how long it takes once your file is "complete, not in review" before it goes into review?
Thanks for any insight.

Genius.... Also, I agree with the whole investing in yourself. I just need to find a bank that wants to invest in me.taw856 wrote:NewtonLied wrote:I used to use that same line on my mom to rationalize all those baseball cards I used to buy.

Re: Illinois 2010!
It looks like I may be able to have some more official news on tuition levels by Monday. I am going to hold off on the financial aid email until Monday afternoon so I can include that new information. I am sorry for the delay, but it will be more accurate information if I wait a few more days.bananasinpajamas wrote:Dean Pless,

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but does Illinois offer need-based awards in addition to merit scholarships? Or is their aid all merit cash and loans?

Pless wrote:No. We offer scholarships at the time of admission. The remainder of the budget is covered through Federal loans.bananasinpajamas wrote:Dean Pless,
How typical is it for a student to get a need based scholarship in the Financial Aid Package even if the student was already offered a merit based scholarship covering partial tuition costs.

Just a guess but the unusual lack of Pless presence today seems to be a solid indication that the answer to your question is a "yes." Here's to the midwestern work ethic. Guess we'll see for sure within the next couple hours.bananasinpajamas wrote:+1itsmytime10 wrote:Dean Pless,

Sorry, no email today. The meeting that will allow me to confirm tuition was postponed until Tuesday afternoon. I hope to send out that email tomorrow afternoon/evening.
