Seriously! My poor little AC unit was trying SO HARD yesterday, and couldn't manage to get below 81. I didn't move from AZ for this. :?

No kidding!

One of my sales pitches to my wife to move us here was that the summers would at least be a little cooler than they were in the South... I heard one of the radio DJ's say that the heat index may get as high as 115 today. Cripes, that's HOTTER than AZ!

Edit: Swinging by the bookstore here in a bit and checking out the prices... Will post with more info, if you guys are interested. Full disclosure: I think I will be going with new books this first semester, just to be safe...

On the other hand, this past Sunday and Monday were pretty nice.

That's very true. It needs to be like that more often.

yhezel - were those prices $15-$20 cheaper than the new or used prices on Amazon? I'm assuming new, but just want to be safe.

I only checked prices for new books. The total cost at the bookstore for the B2 section book bundle is $659 plus taxes. So unless there is a huge difference in cost from one section to another we will have extra cash from the book budget, great for those sneaky moving expenses.

Sneaky, and in my case mounting moving expenses. Good to hear books will only cost $600, what a bargain

In your opinion, will there probably be any more wait list movement? Will any more updates be sent out? Thanks!
I am planning on sending out an email on Monday afternoon with the last update. I don't think there will be much movement at this point in time.

I picked up my ICard yesterday. There were very few lines: I highly recommend getting it done before the freshmen all start showing up next week...

For those of you in town already, the International Law Society at the COL is hosting a little welcome back get together starting at Murphy's at 9pm tonight. Would be a great opportunity for you to meet some current students.

P.S. I just looked over at ur bio on the Illinois website. Undefeated softball season? Nice. If im admitted, can i audition for the team?

oh in that case, I forgot a soft factor that could help me get off the waitlist.

I am a power-hitting center fielder with blazing speed that WILL ensure your undefeated record this fall. Should I promptly write a LOCI to inform you!?!?!?!

...or you can just PM me and ill out myself so you can check my application
Yeah, we don't let students play on our team so I try to stock the school with bad softball players, not good ones.
Found this post on a forum search. Fantastic. Perfect 10.

I didn't receive the update today. Has it been sent yet? I feel excited for some reason!

I called admissions and talked to the receptionist (I think) on Thurs, asked if there would be any waitlist movement....she laughed

Dean Pless:

I was just looking for some clarification on whether or not this last email meant that you were releasing the waitlist or that we remain on the list but should not expect any further movement?

Thanks.

We haven't withdrawn anyone from the wait list. It is unlikely that we will make any additional offers.

This has probably already been answered at some point, but should I have already mailed/faxed my completed undergraduate transcript to someone at the college? If so, to whom?

They do need an official undergraduate transcript, but I don't remember offhand whose attention it goes to. Look around the site, or the summer checklists

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
