This happened to me also. They emailed me a PDF of the admissions packet.

I only wish I'd asked them to email it to me earlier. I was surprised to see the scholarship letter since my numbers are weak. I was already leaning toward Minnesota, but $20k/year makes this an easy choice.

Do you have MN citizenship? If so, that effectively means a full ride, right?

If you're not from MN you probably don't know this, but the tuition for law students in state is going up by 15% next year and out of state is going up by 8% as well which really narrows the gap and eliminates the cost benefit of staying in state. Take this into account when you review your scholarship money.

Does anyone know when we will get access to the admitted students page?

Go to http://admit.law.umn.edu/info.html and the instructions are on the right.

Are you saying you have already received an email with a username and password?

No. The instructions there say that registering for a new account is the exact same process as password recovery.

I was able to create my account no problem.

Click on the forget my password button and use the email that is on your status checker.

Hmm. I clicked on the admitted students link and it says there is no record of my email address. Definitely the email address they have. Anyone else have this problem?

Unfortunately, I'm out of state (OR). Minnesota is currently the best and most generous school I've been accepted too though even without the in-state rate.

Yeah, that's still quite a sweet deal. 15,000 for tuition (and law school tuition at that -- not UG), plus another 10,000 tops for living expenses per year. Not bad at all.

Hey guys, I was accepted earlier this month. If I end up attending UMinn, I will be relocating from florida with my gf, and she needs to find a job. Does anyone know more or less how the job market is in Minneapolis? She has a bachelors in accounting, so that helps...

I'd suggest she start applying now. I have a lot of friends that were laid off about a 6 months to a year ago and most of them have been able to find jobs (took about 3-6 months), however many of them have been at smaller companies in the suburbs. I'd recommend that she at least send out resumes to Target, Best Buy, US Bank, Accenture, General Mills and a few other big companies based in the twin cities as they can hire her and not need her to start right away. A lot of the smaller companies are probably less interested in waiting 6+ months for her to start.

Got scholarship info today. 20k a year. Woot. If it comes down to BU or Minnesota Law now, it will be a tough choice. BU apparently isn't in the giving mood this Christmas.

My "In Review" date changed to today's date. Is the consensus on here that this means anything?

Mines changed 3 times so far, nothing has happened for me. sckon, what about you?

Same thing happened to me at Georgetown...and that didn't bode so well for me.

My "In Review" changed a few times, none of which seemed to match anything that was going on. I ended up getting in with some scholarship money, though, so don't give up hope yet. It probably just means your file is getting passed to the next person/people.

Just taking a look at the numbers I'm a little worried. 163 and no GPA here (overseas study). Been in review since 12/18. Am anticipating a ding but will be really sad if that happens. I'd love UMN.

Anyone else have the sneaking suspicion they're sending out the acceptances as they come and saving the rejects for January 15th?

Yeah I have a feeling I'm dinged or WLed. For some reason I feel like schools really don't like my application package this year and I can't figure out why....
