Re: Minnesota 2010!
A quick update for all the UR people pulling their hair out waiting. I called today as I've got a few seat deposit deadlines approaching on 4/15 and wanted to figure out my best course of action. The lady I talked to told me that they are taking the full 10-12 weeks (as stated in the letter) to make their decisions.

Quick question for someone who understands the nuances of USNWR more than I do -- what changed to make UMN drop out of the #19 spot and bounce between 20-22 four years ago that they seemed to pretty much hold before that?
Not going to change my decision about where I go regardless, but I'm just curious.

Re: Minnesota 2010!
My entirely uninformed guess would be that it has more to do with other schools (WUSTL) scoring higher than Minnesota dropping in performance. If your score stays about the same, but another school, whose score was previously lower than yours, eclipses your score, you will drop in the rankings.taw856 wrote:Quick question for someone who understands the nuances of USNWR more than I do -- what changed to make UMN drop out of the #19 spot and bounce between 20-22 four years ago that they seemed to pretty much hold before that?

Hm so those who applied on the deadline could hear back in mid-July! I think it would serve both the applicants and the admissions officers to move up the deadline.

Still IR 2/2. I am starting to think someone lost my application. Is there anyone else still IR from that date?
