I hope it does. I'm sick of incessantly checking my blackberry for the blessed email.

I really hope that I get a decision from them soon, since my UR date still reads 10/29, but am willing to wait another week for an acceptance. (Just kidding, obviously. I'm reaching everywhere this cycle, and it is paying off, but I have always had my heart set on UVA.)

-1. Her profile says she got into NYU and Chicago. You'd have to really, REALLY love UVA to take it at sticker over NYU/Chicago.vanwinkle wrote:+1Kohinoor wrote:EDmonkeygirl wrote:I have always had my heart set on UVA.

She did say she has her heart set on it. If it's the school she wants to go to...5ky wrote:-1. Her profile says she got into NYU and Chicago. Re: UVA 2010, RD
Question for people who check their online status:
My application has been listed as "Complete, pending review/decision" since early November. I have stats that should place me well within the acceptance range (3.6X GPA, mid-170s LSAT, HYP UG) but haven't heard a peep from this school. Is this a sign of YP? Does the application status ever switch to "Under Review"?
I'd totally take UVA over a higher school if they offered a good chunk of money... but now it seems that the challenge is getting admitted.

Re: UVA 2010, RD
Unfortunately, UVA doesn't really update their status checker. Most people sit at "Complete, pending review/decision" until they get a phone call or a waitlist/reject email. Some have had their dates update, some have not. If you're in the mid-170s, it could be YP...but who knows, there have been quite a few acceptances in that range this cycle. Did you write a "Why UVA?"Jon Gosselin wrote:Question for people who check their online status:

Re: UVA 2010, RD
It could be YP, although a 3.6x GPA isn't quite YP territory, I wouldn't think. Until a week or so ago, my status had stood at Complete, Pending Review/Decision since mid-November.Chromakey wrote:Unfortunately, UVA doesn't really update their status checker. Re: UVA 2010, RD
Thanks for clarifying things. No, I did not write a "Why UVA" essay, and I am also not a Virginia resident. These could be the two factors keeping me from getting in despite my decent numbers. Hopefully some news will arrive in the next week or so.Chromakey wrote:Unfortunately, UVA doesn't really update their status checker. Re: UVA 2010, RD
Your numbers put you solidly in YP territory at UVA, not admit. Less than 20% of similar LSN applicants were accepted last year (3.5-3.7, 172-176):Jon Gosselin wrote:Thanks for clarifying things. Given that you're also a non-resident, you should really have taken an hour or two to write a Why UVA essay.

Does anyone know if admissions is open today? I heard the DC area got over two feet of snow.
