Alright, by the looks of it, we can expect our WL/rejection soon.

Most days, I check my email compulsively. I get very excited when that little "1" shows up next to the word inbox. Today, I'm sort of glad its staying at 0 (or so I hope it stays at 0), because it seems like mostly bad news going around from Virginia.

I can just hear the convo between adcomms about this now:

Dugas: "He's got good numbers and a good app."
Trujillo: "Yeah, but he's Helmholtz. You've read TLS too."
Dugas: "You're right. Let's let him squirm another month."

+1. I figure no news is good news, but its still nerve-racking.

I'm not stupid, I know they see my anti-UVA "top 9 or bust" trolling.

I feel for you! I'm at two months, two days. Can't imagine how frustrated I'd be at the 3mo mark. (Ask in about a month and I bet I'll be able to tell you!)

Rejected!

How sad is it that I'm relieved I no longer have to worry about hearing from Michigan or Virginia?

Now I'm terrified of seeing a UVA email. If a 176 LSAT splitter had no luck, I think a lot of us splitters are in trouble.

Congrats to the full-ride guy. With a 173/4.0 you should have plenty of nice offers, although few probably will beat a full ride to UVA.

Damn..WL after sending an ED agreement...but I'm not sure they got it (you think if they didn't get it yet, they will reconsider once they get it?)

Waitlisted. 171 3.2

I've heard UVA's WL is a polite ding, is this about right?

That's how it was last year, although with the 171 you might have a chance of coming off it. You from VA or out of state?

I pretty much consider any WL a soft rejection, unfortunately.

True, but UVA seems to have that reputation even moreso than others.

dk, I'm out of state. Thx for the encouragement.

I sent the agreement Tuesday by regular mail..I put it in the box around 3:30 so I really don't see how they would have gotten it already; I did send an email saying it was on the way, but noone responded. Considering there were a lot of RD WLs today, I have a feeling they haven't received it yet.

Will post #s later.

Yeah, it probably isn't there yet. I sent mine on Monday with an e-mail and got a response from Cordel Faulk. Just waiting now.

The last two years in a row UVA has overenrolled accidentally. They keep shrinking the number of admissions they offer and increasing the number of WLs; the idea the last two years in a row was to underenroll and use the WL to cover the shortfall. Unfortunately for those on the WL, so many people accepted that they still overenrolled anyway. I only heard one or two unconfirmed reports of folks knowing folks that got in off the WL last year and that was it, it was a dead zone the last two years straight.

If they've shrunk their number of offers even further this year, it's possible they might finally manage to underenroll and need people off the WL, but the massive increase in ED acceptances makes me skeptical of that. It sounds like they're managing things very efficiently this year, so WL is probably still a soft ding.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
