Mine hasn't changed since I got the status checker on 10/23. But I"m a URM applicant with numbers around the 25th percentile, so I expected a long wait.

Same for me as well. Maybe since we all have high numbers (and I know that 0L and I both wrote Why UVAs), this could be a good sign?
There are no good signs from the dark land of yield protection that is the University of Virginia School of Law.
The LSN statistical graph suggests no yield protection; there's a 180/4.0 who has been admitted.

I'm sure it helps. That said, I'm pretty sure they YP. I can't imagine all those 175+ candidates have no softs and all those 170-172 people do in such a black-and-white manner.

Ugh. Fortunately, I don't care any more.

They wait-listed a ton, by the way.

I'm just doing wishful thinking here because I think my softs are better than average and hoping it helps :)
No. They YP like crazy.

Eh, my status checker updated to today (went complete under review last week). Does that mean I'll hear soon? How do you hear? I'm a splitter, by the way-- LSAT above 75%, GPA around 25%.

To everyone who has been admitted RD so far -- how long did it take you from your acceptance email/call to receive the admit mailing? I live in the Northeast and was accepted on 11/13 and still haven't received it... not really complaining but I'd love to look through all of that admitted student propaganda before Thanksgiving! Also wondering when I should start bothering my mailman/thinking it was lost by the joy that is USPS?

I was admitted 11/11 and got the packet 11/14.

Thanks -- How far from UVA do you live? I'm thinking a call may be in order to ask them to re-send it. I hope they don't think I'm crazy when I tell them that my mailman was sick for the week around when I was accepted so my mail has been very screwed up!

I hope not. Mine updated to 11/5 and then has stayed there. But I am above 75% on both LSAT and GPA.
Same here :(

Add me to the high numbers + Why UVA crowd...my status hasn't changed in a month

All quiet on the Virginian front these days...damn.

More than any other school, my interest in UVA has dramatically increased since submitting my app. I think I did a good job with my "Why UVA", but if I could do it over now I wonder if it would be even better. Oh well.

Is it true that the UVA WL is more amorphous in terms of turning a WL into an Admit? Or is it like Berkeley where it's prioritized at the very beginning and there's nothing you can do to "bump" yourself up numerically on the list? I realized I know a UVA alum very well who could write an additional LOR for me...

+1

It is a very good feeling. They were the first for me too, and thus far they are the leader in the clubhouse.

Congrats! I see your stats in your profile; when did you submit and go complete? Was the date on your status checker updated ever? Thanks!
Sent 11/18, received 11/19, status checker updated to "file complete, pending decision/review" on 11/23 and hasn't changed since.

EDIT: That's a fast turnaround. I really hope they start getting to us out-of-staters soon too!

I'm sorry, that won't be possible. The University has an obligation to the good tax-paying citizens of Virginia (me, for example) to attend to its residents first. Thanks for your patience!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
