Don't believe there is an end date for ED besides the RD end date.

Alright, I'll address this to the crowd. I visited UVA about two weeks ago. I met both Dean Faulk and Dugas and both seemed genuinely interested in my application and story. I left knowing it was my #1 choice despite my low numbers (~166/3.65.) I am a URM and have some pretty weird and unique softs. I submitted my ED form a week ago and still have not heard back. Should i be worried? I was so encouraged by my visit. Am i diluting my own judgement?

Thoughts?

I'm convinced that UVA is the place for me and i think i could make a real contribution. Any ideas on what to do next?

I had a quick question regarding ED. People above have been talking about 'changing' their applications to ED in January, and thus I'm a little confused. Don't you have to apply for ED by November 1st, or something along those lines?

Not anymore. They eliminated their ED deadline, making it the same as the RD app deadline.

So is there any rhyme or reason to the date change in the status checker, as far as how long afterward we're notified of a decision? Is it just a random update?

I got in the same day mine updated to a different complete date. I think it mostly means that they are actually looking at your application, not necessarily that you will have a decision today. It might kind of be their way of saying "in review" without officially putting it in review.

Both of these answers make me sad! But at least I can stop the obsessive status checking.

I applied to UVA ED (nonresident) and I just heard back. I was waitlisted with a 162/3.99. I assume people do get rejected from Early Decision. I am a little happy that I wasn't rejected right away. I know my LSAT score is low for them.

i just noticed that my status date updated to complete 1/25 (from 1/6ish, can't remember). not to burst any bubbles, but my stats are below median, so if this means anything it's not necessarily good.
anyway... how can i expect to hear about my rejection?

Acceptances are by email telling you to call them.

Just got my Waitlist email today? what is the consensus on this year's waitlist? are they going to use it, or are they going to over enroll like last year and not even touch the waitlist? Any tips on how to get off it? I'm re-taking in February and sending in fall grades, having the president of my school call, and writing an LOCI, dont know what else I could do.

UVA's M.O. is to waitlist VA residents with both numbers below median as a soft rejection, and reject non-residents.
