EAC 11/9.

I'm 169 3.85 and am heartened to see other 169s get accepted recently Maybe Cornell hasn't raised its standards this year like we all seemed to think based on those deferrals of 170+s

This will take a bit of explanation. I'm still EAC 11/11, so yesterday I emailed them to ask them to change my mailing address to my home address, as opposed to school, since I am leaving for home for winter break.

Today, they responded to my email by saying they had already mailed my decision letter to school, and so they attached a PDF of my acceptance letter to the email, which I thought was very nice of them.

As well, the letter also informs me I am under consideration for the Dean's Scholarship, so there's obviously still another round of those going out!

So don't worry, for some people your letters are already in the mail. To answer any questions: submitted 10/27, EAC 11/11. It still says EAC 11/11 for me. LSN in profile. Good luck!

I love this story. Congrats 5ky!

I tried to pull the same thing; however, my app is still under review even though I'm 11/5. I guess it's good to know they are considering my splitter-a** for admission.

Do you think no news means they just can't make up thier minds on us? It seems like everyone left is borderline. No auto-admits, not auto-rejections. Just a bunch of 168s and splitters.

Dunno, I'm URM to boot so I guess it's even more difficult for them to decide. Another T14 acceptance would be nice. I'm a prestige whore so the Ivies all impress me.

Damn you and your acceptances. :) All I have is Washington and Lee. If I don't get into Cornell I will probably be redoing the cycle again next year. :(

Bummer. Looks like they want to make splitters sweat it out a little. I'm sure you'll have a place in March. Good luck!

Cornell is admitting/denying/deferring people across the board now--regardless of your EAC.

Unfortunately, I think 12/17 is go time. I called and asked if decisions would update overnight and she told me "Yes. We update them as we process them." But that seemed inconsistent with what we have seen so far. I thought maybe I just wasn't clear in my question. I think the Monday updates will show up Wednesday night at midnight.

So are you guys saying that they've made decisions on people whose status checkers haven't gone to decision?

Yes. Like the people whose staus checkers changed on the 13th had it say "Decision rendered 12/11." It appears there is a two day lag.

Nope. Tomorrow it'll be 5 weeks w/o a decision. I'll be hearing from Illinois on Friday though. Chicago early next week.

At a very basic level--it means that they haven't decided, which for most of you means nothing, but for me means that they are seriously considering my application. As a re-applicant who is counting on my softs\experience to get me in, I knew I wasn't going to be a shoe-in. The fact that they haven't deferred me or rejected me yet, tells me that they didn't laugh when they saw my application again, or if they did, they are at least letting me think I have a chance. The way I see it, I've survived 4-5 rounds of deferrals and rejections. At the same time, I wouldn't have applied if I didn't think I had a legitimate shot.

I guess I will know soon enough.
