AH me too! I'm still stuck at EAC 11/05. Why, Cornell, why?

Calling a 900 number to tell you that you got into Cornell is just not the same.

I'm confused. People are are getting acceptance with a scholarship, or just an acceptance with an invitation to apply for a scholarship. I thought, typically, you were "in with X offer." Is this normal?

*Not that any of this applies to me, I would go to Cornell (and be lucky) if they threw in an "Ithaca is Gorges" t-shirt and some kind of commemorative mug.

I'm not sure, if I would have read this thread beforehand I would have paid more attention over the phone lol I just know that she definitely said I need to write a 500 word essay for it, so I assume that means I'm applying for it? I also told her that I was going home for break tomorrow so if I don't get the letter (she said they were sent out Monday or Tuesday) I can call and they'll pdf it for me.

Still EAC 10/28. 171 (reapplicant, applied with a much lower score last year) and 3.75. I really hope there's another around of scholarship acceptances; admission with a scholarship at Cornell would nearly seal the deal for me.

I thought the wait would be more bearable as the 24th draws closer, but I was wrong. The wait is much much worse. Much worse. So much worse.

I cry myself to sleep every night.

It is something you have to apply for. It is a Dean's scholarship for 40k/yr.

It looks like it. My guess is they have basically finished reviews at this point and we will here decisions for a few high numbers today and tomorrow. Then I bet Monday a mix of decisions (In, Out, Deferred) start to trickle out. Though I don't know what to make of the whole "Acceptances are emailed" information OL got from the adcom yesterday.

Has anyone EAC after 11/6 heard anything at this point?

Yea, I dont know about that either. I did ask them about it and they said there were bugs but we should eventually hear by email also. Its nice that they will tell you over the phone though.

Still at "Applied" as of 11/9/09

Just got off the phone with the admissions office. The woman I spoke with was very nice and informed me that I should hear back in a couple of weeks as to whether or not my application is "complete." I guess I'll stop checking this board for a while...

Even if they make decisions tomorrow, it seems to take 3-4 days for the status check to update. For instance, the 12/7 status check did not change to DR until the 10th (today).

but maybe we're DR 12/8 and it'll change on 12/11 please, please, please let this be the case

edit: for more optimistic emoticon.

It doesn't seem like they are the most computer savvy bunch, so that doesn't surprise me. I wish they would just say "You will know at X time on X day." I am starting to go a little crazy. I don't know if I should just be optimistic since it won't change anything and I don't want my husband to leave me for being a stressed out pain in the ass. Or if I should prepare myself for the worst, so I'll be ecstatically surprised or ready to handle the bad news. So far I have been swinging between the extremes. How is everyone else holding up?

By the way, congratulations 0L!! Hardly a surprise with your numbers, though. Sounds like you'll have some tough choices to make.
