+1 to that.

As to your question regarding the Why X, I just simply titled it "Why Cornell." Maybe not artful, but direct. I think an adcomm might appreciate the direct approach when inundated with applications.

I think I may have neglected to give mine a title at all. Woops.

I didn't write a separate Why Cornell, just used the 3 lines provided, but I did title all the why essay I did write with Why _____

What do you think my chances are?

I'm a re-applicant; originally applied as a super reach last year with a 161 and a 3.8. I didn't get in, and have since graduated and retaken the LSAT. I reapplied EA with a 171 (in addition to my old 161, obviously) and a 3.75 but did not include a "Why Cornell" essay (only the three lines on the application), because I attached an LSAT addendum and did not want to swamp them with addenda.

How do re-applicants generally fair? I would love to go to Cornell. If they were able to offer any merit scholarship aid, I'd be ready to sign :p

Something tells me they'll be able to deduce the purpose of your essay fairly quickly. No worries.

one would hope so!

js87, I don't know anything about how they view reapplicants, but with your current #'s you definitely have a great shot if they don't hold your previous app against you. and i can't see why they would, really...

Also hoping for a Cornell admit. Applied EA. Love the campus. Status has been "applied" since 10/20, but it also includes this summary: We have received your application and you are in our system. Please make sure the rest of your application materials are submitted to us in a timely fashion. Your status will change when your remaining admissions materials have been received by this office.

Is that standard language or does it mean that I'm missing something? Any idea how long it typically takes to go complete?

Love that picture. My first college looked like a corporate building, and only one building on my current campus looks like a "college building".

Been EA Complete for a while. Can't wait for december to find out. Cornell is my financial first choice, as my GI Bill will let me go there at least for the first 2 years for freeeeeeeeee!. Good luck everyone, see you ITT in december.

Standard language for applied. It takes a little while to go complete as I think I remember Cornell ask for a paper report and not an electronic one from LSAC. But you should be fine for EA.

Is that a chapel or a law library? Granted to law students they are one and the same.

Preemptive Comment to people without humor: I know it's a law library. It has books.

I don't think phone threats/bribes are as helpful as you think.

Applied Friday and my status is "Applied." Probably will change to EA Complete by the end of the week/beginning of next.

Here's my good-luck-picture... hoping to go "early action complete" soon. My status has been "applied" since the 21st.

I love Cornell!
I talked to someone in admissions about my status being "applied" for 3 weeks. She was really nice. She said it should change to complete soon. I'd rather it change to "admitted," but whatever.
