Better when the US government helps your cause.

If the only major difference between this year and last is this early deferral business, we can probably expect acceptances to start over the first couple weeks of December and rejections/waitlists to start near the end of the second week/beginning of the third week. The deferral thing might just have been a strange kind of purging of the app pool before business continued as usual.

Before or after Rambo joined them?

This should have been personal statement. It even suits Cornell's fondness for essays 3 lines or less.

What are the odds of Cornell moving up to T10?

Before or after Ruleser and Rambo are admitted?

So the theory is the DR 11/24 are all deferrals? The YP'ed people and the not-so-glam ones alike?

Except for one interview request, yes.

Surely. Of course, Rambo and the US government have little to do with each other.

Still waiting on my impending deferral. I was really hoping Cornell would be my first acceptance, but... it seems not to be the case. Perhaps I'll call in the morning just to get it over with.

Too lazy to read this whole thing but from what I gather everyone who was updated decision made on 11/24 is or at least has been a deferral, and this means that they have been sent to the regular app pool? Is it possible that this could either hurt or help ones chances? I guess the point would be to wait and see what the rest of the app pool will look like, if its not that strong it may help-even though it will probably be stronger than average and kill my chances. Just trying to be positive. Also are the majority of people still waiting to get the mail, because I thought it would come today?

Since Rambo the Mujahidin ain't the Governator, who is all red and white and blue and snagged a Kennedy princess.

Mujahadin is plural. Mujahid is singular. So, unless Rambo is more than one person, he's a Mujahid. Just sayin'.

Unless Rambo is more than one person AND if he is a member of the Afghan resistance, he's a Mujahid.

Nerd-trumped. :)

Not really, because a Mujahid is just a practitioner of Jihad, regardless of location. :-) Your play, sir.

Fair enough. In all endeavors, I try to limit my attention to the plot of Rambo III. Just personal preference.

I am fairly certain that Rambo is a Kafir anyways, and so can't be a Mujahid. (Sidenote: voweling arabic is hard, can we just stick to SATTS)

Edit: see I transcribed كافر wrong

I think you mean he's "kafir". Kuffar is plural. (Just in case waiting4law must point it out later  )
