No. I think this is the first time I am happy to see no movement on my app from a school. Still EA complete.TruckerD wrote: Thank you... are you on that list?

Agreed. Still complete here, but that 175 3.16 is scaring me.CyLaw wrote:No. I think this is the first time I am happy to see no movement on my app from a school. Still EA complete.TruckerD wrote: Thank you... are you on that list?

I never thought I'd be refreshing a status checker and praying that it hadn't changed.

This is very strange, if they were YPing, I'd expect many others on this thread to have gone to Decision as well. If not, they must be very confident about their applicant pool this year. No acceptance till now does seem to indicate a trend though.....

Re: Cornell waiting room
Esp. since my stats (168/3.45) are nearly identical to those who have been deferred!! First outright rejections from Gtown PT, and now this, I've never been so glad my apps are stuck in "complete" limbo. This cycle's unpredictability is stressing me out so much.roxj wrote:+1galahad85 wrote:+180CyLaw wrote:No. I think this is the first time I am happy to see no movement on my app from a school. So nobody with a decision on 11/20 or 11/24 has gotten good news? Yeesh, that's rough.

I might be wrong, but I don't remember anyone with a decision of 11/24 hearing news yet.Helmholtz wrote:So nobody with a decision on 11/20 or 11/24 has gotten good news? Yeesh, that's rough.

Psh. I leave for a few hours, and this turns to imminent doom.
EDIT: Good thing the Cornell Law website is down to further mock me.
EDIT 2: Nvm, must have been a passing thing. I've never been so happy to see no movement on my status checker.

FWIW, last year I was RD WLed and rejected with 169/3.46, but I didn't apply until mid-January. I am still at EA complete tonight, but of course I don't know what that will mean.

Just wait till my ≥80% at/below numbers for Cornell (according to LSP) net me a deferral. Decision 11/24, anticipating the imminent doom.clint4law wrote:damn.....this isn't very encouraging.Rurik wrote:Could we get a list of the stats of the people so far who have been deferred for this cycle?

Re: Cornell waiting room
Hey, sorry to ruin everyone's gloom party, but these deferral numbers are not at all outside of the range that Cornell wait-listed last year. If you look at LSN for ~3.5 GPAs, (http://cornell.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/0809/) Cornell appeared to have built a brick wall between 168 and 169. The 175/low GPA splitter example is an outlier and thus hard to attest to. However, until some 169s with near median GPAs start reporting trouble, I don't think there's any real reason to panic yet. Cornell is still acting within historical expectations.

Decision on 11/24 (though it was in fact posted on 11/28).
I anticipate good things. I'm thinking an acceptance with the full scholarship, or a $30K scholly at the least...
...
Not really of course. Is there any way to tell before the letter gets here if it'll be a hold or a deny?

Re: Cornell waiting room
I wish there was some trend as to how they approach splitters, but splitters always seem to be pretty random with the exception of those few "super soft" individuals. Why they accept some with lower numbers than others doesn't really make much sense, I have to assume they take some kind of holistic approach that we can only guess at.ragnarok545 wrote:Hey, sorry to ruin everyone's gloom party, but these deferral numbers are not at all outside of the range that Cornell wait-listed last year. Dear Cornell Admissions staff,
There is a problem with your website. My online status states that a Decision has been made, but no link is available to the admitted student site.
Please fix this error as soon as possible.

Time for another Cornell campus photo for good luck. Still EA complete 10/28 over here. Best of luck to everyone expecting a letter this week.
