I kind of want this thread to be 100 pages long before acceptances come out. Why? Not sure.


According to Google images, this is somewhere in Ithaca. I have never seen so much cold in one place.

And I want to go there, why?

haha idk why Ithaca has such a bad reputation for being so cold. I can think of plenty of universities in equally cold or colder climates. Is it because Cornell attracts so many people from warm places?

I think it's a combination of feeling like you are out in the middle of nowhere (i.e. away from a major met. city), and snow. Other than that, I've come to the same conclusion. If I could survive 8 years in Provo, I could surely do 3 in Ithaca.

As for the news OL gave us, its kinda funny how everyone is now caught up in trying to figure out what "very shortly" means. If someone were to call and find out that decisions are coming out within the next hour, the same people would want to know if the decisions are being emailed in alphabetical order.

Lee-Jackson-King Day? Confederate flags? Mason-Dixon line? Virginia's more than "kinda" Southern.

I'm more southern than that. I got into UMN yesterday and when I told my family all they could say is "but it's so cold there....." But they said the same thing about Boston. And (if I get in) they will say the same thing about Cornell. Anything above our state is considered too cold.

I just meant it in terms of temperature I mean I have snow in my backyard right now.

I just spoke with a very nice lady at the admissions office. She told me some information that I wanted to pass on:

1) ALL EA Decisions will be given by the 24th, they will mail them before the 24th; however, you may not get a Status Update until the 24th.

2) Acceptances will be EMAILED this year. I asked her if she was positive on this and she said that they should be emailed. All other decisions will be mailed.

3) They are processing the first actual decisions right now and we should see first acceptances "very shortly"

I still think what that unicorn is doing to that dolphin is unnatural, but thank you for relaying this.

I grew up in Northern VA for quite a while and served an LDS mission in the area. It is my opinion that the South ends and the North begins right around the Prince William County-Stafford County lines.
