reserve is pretty much a fancy way of saying waitlist. there was no waitlist last cycle. you either got in off reserve, or didn't.

I meant reserve when I said waitlist.

Do we have any idea how many got in off reserve? Of course, this cycle is anything but predictable.

Thanks, 0L. I asked this question in the barely alive "Cornell 2013" thread but did not receive a response.

So is being "held" from EA the same as being put on reserve from RD? I remember the word "reserve" being used in the letter they sent me back in December.

Must be a lot of reserves. I just got my letter today. I'm taking this as better than a WL regardless of whatever the conventional wisdom is. With reserve, at least they said they'll consider/review each reserve app at least one more time. Once you're on the WL, you really are just waiting it out. Maybe it's a thin line, but I like the sound of reserve more. Though I would also be curious to hear how many are admitted from the list and exactly how many are on it. "Several hundred" as they said in the letter is awfully vague. Sounds like a lot though.

So is it safe to assume that if you have a DR with no email then you probably didnt get admitted?

Does anyone know how to retrieve a forgotten or username or password for the status checker? I haven't been able to access the status checker because it keeps telling me I'm a registered user, but I never created a login.

Anyone here participated in an interview yet? Any tips, or thoughts on what to review beforehand?

WL via snail mail on Friday but with my numbers it makes sense.

Time Line

Applied 11/25
Complete 1/20
DR 2/22

And after compulsively watching this thread Cornell is definitely going chronologically with the apps, so it looks like next batch should be end of November/Beginning of December applicants. Those of you who applied in Feb or even Jan may have a really long time to wait. Good luck to everyone though, congrats to those who got in, and now I have to figure out if I want to sit on the WL.

Just the usual. Why do you want to go to law school? Why cornell? Ask about your softs. How you'll contribute to Cornell. Etc... Good luck! Have some questions ready to ask about Cornell.

Time to call if I haven't gone complete yet from applied 1/5? It seems like a lot of people on here had gone complete last week with the 1/5 applied date...

Nah, a bunch of people who applied after me went complete before me, and I went complete a week or 2 later.

My status changed to complete today. It still says 1/5, however. According to Cornell, that means I will receive a decision by April 5th.

I applied to a specific program at Cornell, and if I were accepted into that I would have to think about it for sure.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
