I called Cornell yesterday and asked about the EA deferrals. The woman said that they haven't even begun to look at them, and when they do, there is almost no chance that they will finish before seat deposits are due. She said applications will be pulled at random and some may hear before the end of the month, many won't.

Sorry, all I can do at this point is laugh.

"Pulled at random," lol. Just imagining them throwing darts etc...

So...I'm still at "Applied" 1/5.

To call or not to call? If anyone with the same Applied date's already called, would be great to get filled in on what they've learned.

Do you guys think they are sending out decisions on a regular basis? I mean what are they doing over there? I am sure they are working fast and are inundated with work, but wouldn't it be easier to send out acc/wl/rej every week or so? It seems to me that people would stop calling if they knew work was being done...

Jus trying to help you out Cornell :) I see you struggling...

Right, that much is clear. I was hoping that someone might have already done the legwork and called Cornell to try and learn something new.

Anyone else going to the ASD tomorrow? Any suggestions on what to wear? Was going to go totally casual since none of us are trying to impress anyone, gain admission, etc. Am I totally on the wrong track with that idea?

I've been at applied since 01/26. I've called and been in email correspondence for the last three weeks and still no status update. I echo everyone's thoughts: WTF Cornell? I would never have applied had they not waived my fee and sent me a sweet encouragement letter, but now I'm thinking i wasted my time and the $12 LSDAS fee.

Congrats to those accepted :)

Has anyone that applied in January or after receiving a letter saying you will be refunded the application fee, received their refund yet?

You all should be strong and patient. I have been applied since late November, still at complete late January.

After you are in month-four, you begin to achieve a zen-like state where you relax and stop worrying when you will hear.

If I hear tomorrow great. If I have to wait another month, then I will do so; some decisions simply take longer than others...

Why did they refund your fee?

They do that for everyone who is rejected.

Actually its because he got an app fee waiver.

I received a letter after I applied encouraging me to apply and waiving the fee was the incentive. They said I should receive the refund in 2 weeks, and its been over 2 months.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
