Re: michigan 2010 applicants
So every time I want to check my status I have to search my email for my Michigan number or whatever because I'm too lazy to memorize it, and today I actually read the email again. It says:
This would explain the ability to log into the admitted students website before you even know you have a decision. It also seems nice of them. Thanks Michigan!
to minimize anxiety, the final-decision indicator won’t appear until a couple of days after a decision letter has already been mailed.

If you use Firefox, it will remember and autofill the number for you if you can remember the first digit.

Right, that works on my laptop (even pressing the down arrow without typing the first number brings it up), but I frequently check on computers in the lab on campus, in the library, or at work (where browsing history is disabled) as well. Just typing that out makes me feel so obsessed. I should probably stop that.

How long did it take you guys to receive the status checker info? I'm pushing on three weeks since my acknowledgment e-mail.

I don't know what's worse, refusing to send a status checker for weeks and weeks like Michigan, or not telling you about a status checker that already exists like Columbia.

So it looks like there's status checker lag with Michigan? I thought maybe it was just me. I applied on something like 10/23 or 10/25, and I got an e-mail on 10/29 saying that I'd have a status checker within about three weeks. 19 or so days later, no status checker e-mail. Should I be worried?

Earlier in this thread someone said that they send status checker emails on Wednesdays. If that's true, yours (and mine!) should come in two days.

Two people on LSN with the same stats as me have now been accepted. Come on, Michigan, I know we'll be compatible. Please let me in.

Anyone have any guesses on how they are reviewing their applications? Because people with lower numbers and who applied after me have received acceptances? Anyone have any crazy theories?

Maybe they have a separate stack of applications they think will qualify for the Darrow/a good amount of money, and they're reviewing them later. That's one way to think about it

haha, I wish! I dont think my numbers are high enough for Darrow (but it would be amazing!)
