SO EXCITED, but I don't want to get my hopes up quite yet. Perhaps some freak clerical error occured.

You can look under Admissions Communications on the "Mail and Money" page (button at the very bottom on the left) and see if they mailed your packet. It's probably safe to say you're in though, so congrats!

JW is there a difference between the red text and the blue text?

I'm in the same boat as countryjunkie, Updated to 2/17, and still complete... but Blue text.

The red text refers to people who use the admitted student website to see if they have been admitted. It is not in reference to the status checker.

Red text still here from a 2/3 status checker-receiver...of course, I don't expect to get in at all, but I had to check. Congrats, justblue!

Applied 2nd week in January, received status checker on 3 February. Still reads as complete on status checker. Hope this helps!

Congrats, you're in! The formal acceptance comes via snail mail, approx. 3-4 days after you can log in (at least for me).

Absolutely no justification for this taking 4 months. I got that semi-hold email awhile back so at least that means they looked at my app and couldn't decide yet. But how much longer can they push this for people who applied in September and October?

That's just ridiculous. I applied Nov 4 and still feel like that is way too long. Especially because people with comparable (but worse) numbers who applied long after me have been accepted left and right. I feel like they must hate my PS or something.

Plus, the April date they set in the hold email is ridiculous. At least my GULC hold set a 2/26 deadline.

I'll give them the slightest benefit of the doubt since I'm sort of a borderline candidate. I expected them to wait a bit longer on my app, but I didn't think it would be this long. Hopefully they make the wait worth it with an acceptance.

I'd also consider myself borderline (at LSAT median, .01 below GPA median), but (according to LSN) they seem to love pretty much all, 3.5+ 169s. After waiting this long, anything but an acceptance will be a huge disappointment (plus, this is my best shot at a T14, so if I don't get in here I may get blanked).

Forgive my wandering mind, but how does Michigan communicate a ding?

I was stuck at 2/13 and just updated to 2/17. Still complete, still red text, and I fear the worst.

Ding = Decision on status checker with no AS site access.

snail mail. if you get snail mail and you still have red text, it does not look good.

I'd think you'd at least get into Cornell, with a decent shot at GULC as well. Any reason you didn't apply to any T30 schools as safeties?

Cornell's apps are up 52% and I applied the day before the deadline, so I'm not holding my breath. GULC interviewed me, held me, and has put me UR 4x over 3+ months with nothing to show for it. I didn't apply below T14 because I figured that even if I didn't get in this year, I would next year or the year after. While I'd like to go straight on from UG, it's not imperative. At this point, I'm hoping for WLs instead of dings because hopefully a new and improved Feb LSAT (knock on wood) would get me off them.

Fair enough. That's actually a very well reasoned response, and I commend you for that. When will your new score come out?

How much does Michigan protect their medians? I mean, I'm 1 point below the LSAT median and .04 below the GPA median, but there are a few non URMs in a similar range that were accepted. I always thought that scores below both medians basically means an auto-reject (even if it's barely). It looks like that I would have been in very good shape had I managed a 169, but I guess LSN says all hope is not lost for me at 168. I just looked at the graph expecting to see something like UVA where they protect 3.85 and 170 so strictly, and didn't notice it as much.

Oh crap! I tried to log into the admitted students' site for the first time today, even though my status checker is still at "Complete".

I got into the Admitted Students site, and under "Mail & Money" it says that an offer packet was mailed today! My first T14 acceptance, I can't believe it!

Numbers are 3.8/170ish. Applied first week of January, wrote Why Michigan essay, lots of w/e.

Woo-hoo!

They come later. It doesn't seem to show up online, at least not yet...

Thanks. Also...

- How long before scholarship info usually comes?
- Does it come by mail, email, or phone?
- Is it still possible for those admitted this week to get a Darrow?

It's typically a few weeks. Reg scholarship offers come via mail, Darrow invites by email, and I think Darrow awards by phone. It's possible I guess, but not super likely. If you think your numbers and softs would make you competitive for one, when did you apply? If you've been waiting awhile (they couldn't make a quick decision to admit you), it doesn't seem like you would be strongly considered for a Darrow. If you applied late, that's another story. However, if you're numbers would put you in Darrow range, you still stand a very good chance of getting a Dean's Scholarship, likely $67k, which is half tuition (not that bad when you think about it like that, although certainly not full plus stipend...)
