So I think I read this earlier but I just got my status checker yesterday so it's time to be neurotic. Does the date on the status checker update daily?

The application received email says don't call until 6 weeks after that email if you haven't gotten a complete email and think your application is complete.

Looks like UofM has a crap ton of applications this year, a lot more than usual looks like. I emailed them asking about a status checker because I applied 5 weeks ago. Here's the response.

Thank you for your recent application to Michigan Law, and thank you for your patience. We sincerely apologize--usually it takes only about 3 weeks for an application file to reach the point in the process where we can send our online status checker, but we're receiving more applications this year so far than in a typical year, and it's taking us a bit longer than we hoped. If you haven't received the status check email from us by Thursday, December 11, please contact us again. We're sorry for the delay and for any extra stress it has caused you!



In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns.

Hey guys! I'm a 1L at Mich and just wanted to pop in and say good luck (much more entertaining than paying attention in torts :) ). This is a great school and I absolutely love it here - even in the midst of panic about my first exam being 7 days away! Hope to see some of you guys get in real soon! Don't feel bad...I just want Michigan to dance with me too! I don't need to be first...but I don't want to be the last prom dance that happens when the freaking lights are on.

Do any of you check the status checker anymore? All I check is the admitted student site login. Could you imagine not being able to log into the admitted students site and the next day your status goes to decision? You'll definitely know you were rejected (especially since WLs are done via email). I'd rather check the admitted students and just wait for a letter if I'm not admitted.

But Dean Z, please admit me.

I still check it pretty much everyday because last year a few NYU ED applicants found out they were admitted because their Mich status went to Withdrawn. While I doubt that will happen again this year, I still check anyway.
