Rejected from UMich, which I am attending right now as a master student.

Don't have the slightest idea why.

PS: numbers are 179(first time 167), undergrad abroad. Application sent mid Jan.
probably yp, did you write any supplemental essays?
Well I submitted a diversity essay since I'm asian.

However, it's definitely not YP because I have very very low undergrad GPA(72/100), and my graduate score isn't that good either. I got the feeling that it is because of the GPA. But as low as my undergrad GPA is, they admitted me as a master student. Maybe graduate school and law school don't share the same principles. I really love AA, Umich, and this rejection hurts, a lot.

And now I'm really worried about my chances at other T14 schools.
I'm sorry about Umich, but I'm sure you'll get great offers with that 179 soon!! Good luck!

Dinged via snail-mail...could have came either today or Saturday. Numbers both slightly below the medians. Good luck everyone else waiting!

Just withdrew after being accepted way back on Nov. 10. My withdrawal will also free up the $45,000 in scholarship money Michigan offered me. Good luck everyone.

Is a 72/100 a C average? (2.0?)

You can't get both (or at least not if you get $45K or more... not sure about the $30k, but I imagine it's the same rule).

Was just posting on TLS when a new message arrives this minute in my mailbox, from U of Mich. Since I have nothing to do with Mich except waiting for their decision, I open it, my heart jumping:

"Dear x:

Hi, I am a professor at the University of Michigan's School of Public Health. Our research group is conducting a confidential survey about how students are handling the stresses of university life and how well their mental and emotional health needs are being met.

You are one out of a relatively small portion of students at x University who were randomly selected for this survey. The survey takes 15 minutes on average to complete."

What a wrong time, and what a bad choice of a sample! I would screw their entire statistics :)

Just checked mine and saw the same thing. I just want something to know they're still there.

If I'm still pending and expecting news any day now, is it too late to send a Why Michigan?

Yeah, definitely send it. But keep in mind, with Dean Z out in Annapolis, I don't think any new decisions will come out until she gets back...

That's close, maybe I can go visit her?

How long do you usually wait to get the complete/status checker email? I submitted 1/29, got a received email on 2/4 and haven't heard a peep since. Should I call to check or just keep waiting?

Advice is much appreciated!

It takes a while. I submitted a little before you did and just got my status checker a week or so ago.

Does anyone know if submitting additional materials moves you back in the submission order? I'd heard some schools bump you to the back if you do; has the symptoms of a dumb rumor, but better safe than sorry. My app needs my Why Michigan badly due to my TTT GPA.
