It all varies. People have been dinged/WLed immediately and up to a week later. I was SPWL'ed immediately as well.

Last week a few people got dinged days later.

I think they should just send the e-mails right away rather than giving false hope. I was happy to have mine right away.

that kid could have had a fundamental flaw. something in a lor or his PS. some people just are impossible to get along with, you know? But it's more likely that it was his low LSAT that caused him issue. I mean, softs matter a bit.. but mostly when you're compared to someone with identical numbers.

Yeah softs make the most sense when you think of them as a tiebreaker like that. I dunno, I remember being pretty blown away by that thread, yeah the OP was below median but DAMN.

you know, looking at gtown's numbers it'll be amazing if they let me in... I'm at the 75th for lsat and below their 25th for gpa. hopes sink.

I don't think it'd be amazing at all. Having a 170+ gives you a good shot.

I'm probably screwed. Lowish GPA, mid-range LSAT, and apparently strong softs don't matter. FML.

strong softs def matter. 3.9/150-something is in this group with us and only 2 of us have been rejected so far... and it was done immediately.

praying. (but my first score was a 158).. I was distraught by it, expecting around a nice average 165, you know?

Yeah I think if you're only above one median then a straight acceptance this late in the cycle might be a bit much to hope for. But the WL isn't so bad, I've sure gotten used to it anyway. It sounds like you guys escaped a ding at the very least.

Yeah, I am definitely not trying to say that softs can outweigh a low LSAT score (I did apply to GT with a 164, but I am not completely delusional) I am only saying that I think it is part of the reason that many of us are even in the game at GT at this point. So even if only 2 of the 200 of us who they saved just because of that little something extra, get in, I think it is (in my case at least) softs that at least got us a second look among URMs and people with higher LSATS.

Also, I seriously hope that guy on the thread you posted was just screwing with people...

Hope you're right. Although I'm not trying to cure cancer or anything, haha. Merely a Senate employee who probably has his sights set too high.

Well, have you ever gone to LSN's "applicants" page for a school and sorted the results by "complete date"?
I do this every few days to see where each school has caught up to in generally, for reviewing apps.
You see something like this for some schools:

3/14 Pending
3/14 Rejected
3/10 Pending
3/09 Pending
3/04 Pending
3/04 Pending
2/19 Pending
2/05 Pending
2/02 Accepted
2/02 Pending
1/19 Waitlisted
1/18 Waitlisted
1/14 Rejected

Clearly they are reviewing files from 2 months ago, but someone that went complete a few days ago got their rejection already. You look at their numbers and it's some URM a decent chunk below both 25th medians who thought he was going to get in. It seems to me that people below a certain index don't even get their apps read. The guy in that thread would be better off applying to a school ranked 25 or lower and hoping for a full scholarship.

I just had a thought. Assuming we're a mixed batch... no one has been waitlisted yet. Someone HAS to be waitlisted if we're a mixed batch. .: they haven't sent the WL emails yet. Sigh. Was so looking forward to my little acceptance card.
