Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Applied in mid-nov, status checker says complete as of 11/30, no other signs of movement since applying. Applied PT, im hoping some sort of movement happens somewhat soon.

Apparently I've been held. This was rather unexpected.

So I could probably find this answer earlier in this thread, but its 185 pages long and time is money.
I went UR today. Whats the average wait time I'm looking at until a decision has been made?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Scrolling through the forum, it looks like being held means absolutely nothing, except that 1) our scores didn't move us to the head of the class, 2) our scores didn't get us laughed out of the building, and 3) Georgetown hasn't looked at a word of our applications beyond that.
That is to say, it seems like people with really good numbers, really mediocre numbers, and people in between have all been held. Can't say I'm excited about being thrown in the ring with all the people who retook in December, though. Wishing I had, now.

Yes, but don't forget these magic words from the hold email:
Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have had their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted.
Doesn't that give you a towering sense of hope?

UR 12/16, but changed today to UR 1/7
from what I gather, there's is nothing worthwhile to read into this other than what my paranoid self decides.

12/1 - interview request
12/29 - interview (interviewer said she would recommend me for admission)
1/5 - UR
1/7 - UR (Again)
1/7 - Email thanking me for taking part in the interview process and placing my app on hold until the admissions committee "reconvenes in the spring semester" and to be looked again once "it's January."
I didn't understand the email since the committee has obviously reconvened for the semester and it already is January. Any idea what this means? Status still reads the 1/7 UR.

maybe the full committee for up-in-the-air people hasn't convened yet. just because people are in the office, doesn't mean thats necessarily the case. good luck.

Thanks. Just figured they had reconvened because I've been under review twice since the office re-opened post-winter break.

My UR date just updated from 12/10/09 to 1/7/10 too! Can I allow myself some optimism at the knowledge that they haven't sent me a firm "Hell No" decision and used my app as toilette paper?
