They're all playing hard to get this year.

Me and my glass of sangria are going to wait this out together.

Yeah I got that, I'm just saying at least GULC has made some decisions yet, Cornell so far as just deferred and accepted/rejected a few

That's not how the postal system works.

Letter-sized mail within the continental U.S usually takes between one (if it's local) to four days. Anecdotal evidence: I've mailed/received mail from people in California, Georgia, and New Jersey and it's always been two, maybe three days from D.C.

Other evidence:
You can calculate domestic postage and estimated delivery time on the USPS website here --LinkRemoved--. GULC's zip code is 20001.

The actual amount of time might differ based on the efficiency of the post office branches, plus other factors (holiday season, etc)

lol ok, well that still doesn't explain the time it takes mail to get to lansing from detroit. maybe your post office is better than mine, but right now the PO is slow as shit!

Overlooked entirely is the possibility that they didn't mail on the day that the decision was rendered. For all any of you know, 12/1 letters are still sitting in the office.......

My best guess:

If the item being mailed is sent out after the pick-up time, it won't go out til the next day anyway.

If it is picked up on the same day, it's taken to a processing plant to get scanned for postage and to determine where it's gotta go. Then (I assume) it's taken by a truck from Detroit to Lansing (or reverse), to another processing place. Then they gotta take it out, sort it, and then place it on the delivery truck. I can see how that would take two days. I'm assuming cross-country mail moves through the air.

FWIW, this is the first time I know of that I've gotten a letter in one day.

Probably the case, didn't the 11/20 people have to wait like 5+ days?

 I had a buddy (He was 5'8ish and 330) who ate nothing but extra cheese pizza, cheese burgers, and string cheese for a couple of weeks...don't ask why. Then he ate an ENTIRE BAG of prunes. This is no lie...I'll spare the ladies innocently browsing and obsessing the gory details, but nothing that you or I could do would ever beat his PB.

No worries. I'd do the same.
