in other blind attempts at optimism, I had my Vandy interview today and my interviewer said I was the best interviewee he's ever had! Score! Plus the athletes coordinator that is my boss (I tutor student athletes) his Dad is a professor at Vandy, I'd like to think that might get me some lee way even though it won't. at least it helps me sleep at night.

OH SHIT, GEORGETOWN NO!!!!!!!!!!!

Its truly an honor and very humbling to be in the same batch as someone who works as hard as you; whatever it may be

Thanks wootwootDC! I appreciate it! If we are accepted I will buy you a drink at ASD!

My initial inclination is that it means I'm likely to be WL, but through a strong interview might push myself into an acceptance. (Sorry if this has already been covered, I wasn't able to read through 80+ pages of posts)

This is usually a great sign, and unless you're a complete dumbass they usually accept you or at worst waitlist you. If you were rejected they wouldn't waste their/your time with an interview.

169/3.5, great softs and WE, still definitely expecting a rejection.

Hope this helps someone somehow.

I have a similar application to yours. DR 12/1, RD app, FT only. I'm hoping that the DR 12/1 is good news for us RD FT applicants. I am probably wrong though.

I'm regular decision FT and my status has not changed from "complete 11/13" Others who have applied at the same time are going under review or have been under review... I wonder if this is just an extended rejection.

Mine says that to, it says application completed 12/1. then decision rendered 12/1, ED PT

Well I haven't cured cancer yet or anything! Unfortunately law school is a numbers game, so if they don't like my numbers enough who knows.

Congrats!!! GULC lost a (guaranteed) chance with a great URM by taking so long with their EDs...which is also good news for the ED-URM who went DR 12/1 since it seems like they have accepted few URMs this cycles and all with great numbers that get them and prob enroll into top 5 schools (--as evidence in LSN) and they cant risk not enrolling any URMs at all...how can they make sure they have URMS who have good 160s at least and enrolling for sure--ED pile!

It's the same soft in my head :)
To over come a disability is a very hard thing to do, especially being partially blind. That's an amazing accomplishment in rise of an obstacle.

I will withdraw if your not accepted robin. Seriously. Do keep me posted.

I don't believe that (but I'm a splitter so I'm biased). I think it's numbers heavy, but they're nto the end all and be all. You've got a pretty epic story working for you. I'd say to take courage. I think the key to the people who defy their numbers is how well they can sell themselves. Sure, you may not be able to undo a 2.5/149 number set in the space of an application to GULC, but if you're not an auto-reject, I say there's always hope.

what do you guys think about my URM theory?:

...which is also good news for the ED-URM who went DR 12/1 since it seems like they have accepted few URMs this cycles and all with great numbers that get them and prob enroll into top 5 schools (--as evidence in LSN and closer to us, avacado) and they cant risk not enrolling any URMs at all...how can they make sure they have URMS who have good 160s at least and enrolling for sure? ED pile.

Not saying is the case for ALL URM-ED 12/1 just the most competitive of the pile....I just find it hard to believe its an all rejection pile with all of those URM and EDs they cant risk not getting these numbers ESPECIALLY because they are borderline t14 and they need 169 in that sum for sure, the only way they can secure that is by ED...which is my the EDs that got in are all auto admits even for RD...no second guessing because they need numbers..they still do

Damn you USNWR! Damn you!

Is there a thread about how the current ranking system incentivizes law schools to accept students who have raw numbers and nothing else? I mean it is quite ridiculous that someone who went to Western Mississippi State University and got a 3.9 and a 164, stands a better chance at some law schools than someone from Harvard University with a 3.5 and a 167.

this really, really made me laugh... you are arguing that schools should accept people on more than just raw numbers, then give two examples of potential applicants, only listing their numbers and the RANKING of their UG. LOLOLOLOL.

Oh boy. I'd buy a Western Mississippi State University sweatshirt and wear it around if only the school existed.. calm down. And, I suppose Harvard was an iffy choice too, considering its notoriety for grade inflation. But, with about a speck of inference, anyone can see my point, and it is a valid point: The strength of your UG institution should play a bigger role in the admissions process than it currently does, and the UNSWR ranking system is largely to blame for this.

If you aren't willing to acknowledge the enormous difference between performing at a certain level at Harvard versus a place like Western Mississippi State, besides acknowledging that there is a "RANKING" difference, then you are downright ignorant.
