Ok, do we know this from other years too or are you just guessing for this year?

Just looking at LSN from this year and the last 2-3 years. GULC doesn't start by rejecting people first then admitting people later. Their overall trend seems to be admits first, rejects later, like most schools. My logic seems to follow that since this is their first big wave of DR for ED, then I would expect many of them will be admitted. When looking at the ED people on this thread who got DR today, they seem to be splitters, URM, and non-trads. All of whom I would expect to be the stronger candidates of the ED pool. Like someone said, ED applicants are usually not a strong, but even then, I can't see why the would be rejecting the first big wave DR for the ED people.

Overall though, it seems like today was a mixed bag of DR for all applicants, and I bet we hear a multitude of results.

One interesting pattern I'm seeing is: 168/3.X, some WE, for the PT program. Hopefully you guys will be getting admitted to the PT.

Before USNWR altered its system, a 168/3.5 and some WE would have been a shoe-in for the PT program, no?

Well, the accepted an ED PT 170/3.14 already. So they are splitter open for PT, but also they have done a round of accepting ED's. Could be they picked the easier to pick ones, then had the rest of us go toe-to-toe and some are in some are toast.

Decision rendered 12/1, I'm an RD applicant.

169/3.5, great softs and WE, still definitely expecting a rejection.

Hope this helps someone somehow.

Damn you USNWR! Damn you!

Is there a thread about how the current ranking system incentivizes law schools to accept students who have raw numbers and nothing else? I mean it is quite ridiculous that someone who went to Western Mississippi State University and got a 3.9 and a 164, stands a better chance at some law schools than someone from Harvard University with a 3.5 and a 167.

Ok. People need to state whether they are PT or FT. It makes a big enough difference that NOT stating PT or FT is about as good as not stating any numbers at all.

+1 - last year they accepted a 169/3.13 PT, if above poster is PT might be ok...

But overall, a lot of numbers in this stack that got the ding. Only thing that doesn't make this clearly a ding and ding and ding pile is the oddity of it being all URM/Splitter/Non-trad/PT

If you haven't noticed, I have a tendency to over post on TLS. If you fail to direct your question, I'll answer anyway. :D

It seems everyone on this list has good softs/WE/URM status. Maybe we are the waitlists?

Interesting. Last year it looks like you'd be a WL. But who knows? I wish you luck.

So how long has it been taking for people to receive the actual decisions in the mail?

Seems to have varied by location so far. People in the mid-atlantic region and East Coast 1-2 days. People in the mid west to California have gotten it anywhere from 3-6 days. GULC seems to get them out quick enough and after that I think it largely depends on the efficiency of your local post office.

That's one theory - but here another that can explain it:
We are simply the lower number people - the ones who submitted with numbers that usually wouldn't get someone in. The reason there are a lot of URM/interest soft/non-trad/PT/splitter is because this is why we submitted even though we didn't have the #'s. All of that is just coincidental. The batch is really just people with numbers too low to get in.

Not saying that's it, just another theory. My numbers/WE/softs etc. give me realistic shot at PT - but it is a stretch and likely reject if the softs/WE don't make up for the GPA.

so you're leaning towards rejection batch?
