Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Maybe their goal is to get us all worked up so that we feel like Georgetown is the ONLY place in town.....then when we get the acceptance we are so relieved we immediately withdraw applications everywhere else out of sheer gratefulness.
Or maybe we all suck.
Nah. We're good.[/quote]
I feel their may be some truth to this, especially as this would coincide with the emails going out to recent admits today informing them of a 10% rise in the application pool. This also may be an effort to offset any negative perceptions about GULC in regard to the departure of their Dean Alex Aleinikoff, something that was announced just yesterday.
That being said, I think it would make a lot of sense to release rejection emails late on a Friday afternoon as the weekend would give applicants a chance to "chill" which would result in a decrease in the amount of time admissions would have to spend on the phone with irate applicants. I did not say this was the most humane approach, but I can understand it from a practical (cold-hearted ) business decision perspective.

I don't think there can really be a consensus about the 12/01 group because its like, all URMs, splitters, PT, and EDs.acecrusher06 wrote:do we at least have a thread consensus that those that got DR 11/30 or 12/01 are 50/50 accept or rejected?

Just got the email with an invitation to the admitted students reception in January. Anyone planning to go to that? I'm not sure if I can make it.

I got it too. But I've been swamped with work. Worked on a paper from 2am-1:30pm. So tired right now. Have group meetings to attend in hours. Want to die.cpt yossarian wrote:Mine changed from UR 11/18 to 12/3. Sent on 11/5 I think.
After weeks of waiting for anything, anything at all, I'm now too tired to even obsess over it.
I will say this though. I think we will go DR on Tuesday.

Same here. I'll definitely try to go, though. Oh, then you should definitely go if you can! I've been there a few times and it's definitely a cool city. And Georgetown has a surprisingly legitimate campus, too.galahad85 wrote:I've never even been to DC.summerschooled wrote:Same here. I'll definitely try to go, though. Yeah, I've heard great things about the GULC campus. I am a little disappointed that it's so far away from the main campus though, as that just looks gorgeous.summerschooled wrote:Oh, then you should definitely go if you can! Ehh, the main campus isn't connected to the Metro rail.galahad85 wrote: Yeah, I've heard great things about the GULC campus. I am a little disappointed that it's so far away from the main campus though, as that just looks gorgeous.

gtown campus sucks. Sorry, but omg, it take forever to walk from the metro (as compared to uva law). The only good part is that it's near the supreme court.Foozle wrote:Ehh, the main campus isn't connected to the Metro rail.galahad85 wrote: Yeah, I've heard great things about the GULC campus. Huh? It's a 3-5 minute walk to the metro from GULC.
