Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I'm really upset that I did not get the email. I called them in the past to inquire about scholarships. They took down my information and assured me that they'd email me when information was available. No email today. 171 and 3.75 here. Do you think I'd have any chance at money with my numbers?

They took down my info too when I called and said they were compiling a list of people who want to be considered for schoalrships.. I dont want to sound like I am entitled or anything but they know I am interested and I am above both 75% so I thought I would get onejs87 wrote:I'm really upset that I did not get the email. I got one, don't know why some did and some didn't.
I don't get this line? Do they have really strict deadlines on accepting the scholarships? My full ride has given me until May something to decide. From GULC letter wrote: If you are selected and accept a scholarship offer from Georgetown Law, you will be required to withdraw all applications and decline all offers from other law schools

I made a thread for people waitlisted at GULC. Come on over for all things WL-related.

How long has it generally taken people to go from complete to UR? I've been complete since 1/6 and I feel like that's a long time.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Just went under review yesterday (2/12). I guess since they sent that email out now, and probably won't get back to me with a decision for a while, I shouldn't expect any money from them... not that I did in the first place.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Hm I highly doubt that all of you with high numbers are not getting scholarships. Especially since the email clearly states that we are going to be considered, its not a guarantee so i find it hard to believe that you guys won't even be considered? I would call the office on Monday either way to find out. And if they tell you that they're done giving out scholarship invites, I will definitely withdraw so that one of you guys can get it

I went complete on 1/13 and "under review" yesterday (2/12). Anyone know if there is any significance to this?

My UR date changed from 1/29 to 2/12. Any idea what the changed date means?

The only reason I'm unsure if it's worth it is, based upon what I've seen on LSN, GULC is pretty stingy with $$. I'm not sure if it's worth my time if I'm only going to get $30k.
Wow.
That's some valuable time you have.

When you have other schools who beckon you, your time can become very valuable.ccs224 wrote:maggiebre wrote:I'm surprised you didn't get the email, I would think you're a definite contender.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:I also thought my numbers would make me eligible for at least some sort of scholarship?

If you aren't interested, that's one thing, but I can't imagine many people who can't spare the time for an interview if it will "only" get them $30,000.booboo wrote:When you have other schools who beckon you, your time can become very valuable.ccs224 wrote:maggiebre wrote:I'm surprised you didn't get the email, I would think you're a definite contender.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:I also thought my numbers would make me eligible for at least some sort of scholarship?

Not trying to be rude, just pointing out that it's a bit douchey to claim that the short amount of time it would take to respond to the email and interview for an estimated 30k is not worth your effort.maggiebre wrote:No need to be rude. It's not worth the effort because they wouldn't give enough money to convince her from going and there are other people who want/need the money more. Not really that douchey.ccs224 wrote:Not trying to be rude, just pointing out that it's a bit douchey to claim that the short amount of time it would take to respond to the email and interview for an estimated 30k is not worth your effort.maggiebre wrote:No need to be rude. Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Saying that what you may get doesn't make it worthwhile is completely acceptable, agreed. (Though, once you realize this, you should probably just go ahead an withdraw.) Stating that a little bit of time for 30 grand is not worth your effort as a veiled and self-important way of expressing the perfectly acceptable sentiment that GULC probably won't make an offer strong enough to say you, however, is douchey.lz06 wrote:It's not worth the effort because they wouldn't give enough money to convince her from going and there are other people who want/need the money more. That's okay, maggie. I tried hard to construe your comments as "douchey" (I almost want to put this word in double quotations) -- no such luck.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
