I am saying that assuming that we won't hear before then simply because of last year's cycle is silly.

Insight of the Week from Penn website

Upon receipt of all required documents, an application is deemed complete and added to the queue of files to be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. We will not delay the completion of a file for an additional letter of recommendation, or other supplemental documents. Furthermore, if a candidate plans to retake the LSAT and wishes to delay evaluation until the new score is reported, a candidate must make this request in writing.

Not much help after all. They should just post when they are going to release decisions. Well, at least, that's my pipedream.

The worst part is, even if we get decisions next week, Penn doesn't do any of their named scholarship invitations until Feb., and THEN you still have to wait longer after that. Why can't every school just give me a yes or no, say, yesterday?

I had my first UR update today. I originally went UR on 11/11. RD. Did anyone else's UR date change today?

People typically say that LSN represents ~ 10% of the applicant pool I think?

That is about right for UPenn. On LSN for 2008, there were 734 applicants to UPenn (this might be slightly inflated with fake profiles). UPenn's website says there were a total of 6234 applicants in 2008. That puts it at around 11.8% of the total applicants that are on LSN.

However, according to LSAC, Upenn accepted about 950 students (roughly). 160 of those acceptances are on LSN, so that is about 17 percent of the acceptances.

Do we know how many of the 250 are named scholars and what the breakdown is?

I was suprised by that also, but the only place I could find that info was here:
http://officialguide.lsac.org/SearchResults/SchoolPage_PDFs/ABA_LawSchoolData/ABA2926.pdf

I dont know what year this is from though because Penn's website has their total applicants number higher.

I think TLS/LSN has a higher proportion of computer nerds.

I really like the idea of going to a smaller school though. When I first found out about Penn's class size I was pleasantly surprised.

Their Yield Rate of 28 percent puts them right about even with the other Middle T14s (UVA, Chicago, Michigan, etc.)
