Once in an info session my parents attended the Dean said she cares a lot about what high school you went to because that is where people learn how to write

I'd be interested in finding out if this is actually true, because my high school is ballin'. (but I was in remedial English)

That's really interesting and, if true, was to my advantage - I went to a top public school in the Philly area.

And on another note - I think these rejections/deferrals are evidence of Penn's clear desire to move up in the rankings.

I went to a well-known Philly-area public school, too, but I don't know how that'd be a better indicator than your PS. Seems weird.

Straight up rejected today via status checker. Nice note at the top of the status checker though. Stats on LSN.

This surprises me actually... URM with a solid gpa at their median and lsat just below 25%. hmmm

I wouldn't think so either... I could see a "good" high school being seen as a pro for some people, but not as a negative for those who went to sub-par schools (especially if they have a good PS).

Pennsbury is the only bucks county HS I can think of.. I don't think that's a "top" public school though

Minorities? In my school? No. There were two black kids and that was that.

Nearly had a heart attack when I saw Penn started doling out rejections. I'm still UCR even though I went complete, and presumably UCR, before some of the people who have been rejected.
