Can someone answer this Q? I want to send my application ASAP but I have been working on essays all week and not having to write yet another one will be a big relief. FWIW I went to UCLA for undergrad too, if that decreases the YP risk.

just wondering, does being a ucla undergrad help, hurt, or do nothing as far as chances of acceptance?

I am hoping it HELPS! All UCLA law people I have talked to in info sessions seemed to have a soft spot for UCLA UG.

Here's hoping that soft spot reaches the other UCs, too!

It does. From the UCLA website:

The top represented schools by number of students enrolled for fall 2009 are: UCLA, UC Berkeley, University of Southern California, UC San Diego, Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, UC Santa Barbara and Harvard University.

UCSB seems like the oddball out there but whatever. There you have it - 4 UCs in the top 9 represented schools at UCLA Law.

thanks for posting! i hope this isn't just the fact that they get the most applicants from these schools. i know a lot of ucla undergrads who want to stay for law school, myself being one them.

Well of course that's part of it, but it still says something: UCLA Law takes a lot of UC graduates.

LA was by snail mail. I'm doing all this at once, I was never really into TLS or LSN until now.

Okay, whew. Not that I really needed yet another status checker to refresh over and over and over...

And... are you self-promoting your acceptances and LSN profile all over the forum, including schools you... didn't even apply to? (Florida, W&M, St Johns)

Looks like UCLA does snail mail, email, AND/or phone calls. How confusing.

some people have received phone calls and others via snail mail. a buddy of mine also received his through snail mail and we are both in Los Angeles. He doesn't use TLS or LSN, a lot of my friends don't. But I'm new to this, gluck. Look me up on LSN EVERY1SUXBUTME!!! Lol the login ID is from a cartoon show.

Does anyone know if the financial aid information comes with the acceptance letter?

It seems like the people who got calls yesterday on LSN found out their scholarships too. (When they updated, they updated that too).

I think the chances are VERY high that you will. Especially if they accepted you this early when you did RD.

I got my scholarship information with my snail mail acceptance packet, which is how I was notified of admission (no phone call for me).
