So sorry. I was really pulling for you!
Does this mean you know where you're going?

This means I need to stop holding out for UCLA and make a decision. The options are narrowing though :D

Good luck to all those waiting

I guess this means I have another month to wait since I didn't go complete until 2/22.

That's odd. Downloaded my financial aid offer from the UCLA website. Apparently they added my merit aid to my need-based aid. From what I'd read on TLS, UCLA wouldn't allow you to double-dip like that. Anyone else experience this?

This brings me from $20k/year in scholarship to $30k. Very enticing.

Ah, well darn Veritas. I was really pulling for you. We've been waiting it out at many schools together this cycle. Send in a LOCI and hope! Good luck with your other schools!

Yup, same thing happened to me. I figured since it combined the true it it must be what I should expect, but I am still thinking about emailing and asking if it will hold. Seems legit to me though.

WL today via e-mail. I had earlier begged them to at least waitlist me. Nice of them to follow through.

Just got an email titled "Info for Admitted Students" that started off by congratulating me again on my admission...

Going to guess this means I'm in even though this is the first I've heard of it?

Nah, I'm abroad, and most schools don't call internationally (at least not the ones I've gotten into). I'm going to assume that Dean Schwartz doesn't either.

Anyway -- whee! My sunniest/warmest option thus far... and possibly the most expensive.

The sun/warmth doesn't come cheap. Congrats though and I hope you get scholarship information once your mail arrives.

I submitted in October and went complete a few days later. I'm tempted to withdraw, but now I want to force them to make a decision on my file.

That is ridiculous. They must be holding our apps just in case they need us at the last second. I, for one, hope they do.

I submitted in Oct too and they just got back to me, so... hope is not ALL lost? Not going to say it wasn't crazy-annoying though.

In other news: $9k in need-based grant (for 2010-2011). Is this standard, good, bad?

Better than most, less than some, not a bad amount if you ask me (the max is $12k).

I think the max for need-based grant aid is $18,500: http://www.law.ucla.edu/home/index.asp?page=867

I'm hesitant to believe that UCLA's apps only increased by 11% this year. That seems too low.

from the mouth of the dean himself. if youre planning on going to any of the future ASDs, it'd be cool if you could ask him about the percentage increase itself.

I may go to the Welcome Reception in April. If I do, I'll be sure to ask about the application pool. I suppose I may be guilty of getting "lost" in the percentages. An 11% app increase is pretty big when you're starting out with 8,000+!
